Germantown Community Theatre Germantown Community Theatre is a non‐profit 501(c)(3) organization set in an intimate 98‐seat theatre located at 3037 Forest Hill‐Irene Rd.

Now entering our 53rd season, GCT has been a part of the Midsouth performing arts scene since 1972. Originally located in a chapel at St. George’s church, GCT got its start thanks to The Germantown Women’s Club. We moved to our current location in 1986. Our normal operating hours (subject to vary) are 10am to 10pm with classes and rehearsals taking place in the afternoon and evening hours during most weeks of the year. Box Office hours are 12:00 PM-4:00 PM Tuesday through Friday and 2 hours before performances. Showtimes are generally Fri/Sat 7:30pm & Sun 2:30pm

GCT presents the winner of the Emerging Local Playwright competition, THE HOUSE by Savannah S. Miller!

“Set in the 1980s, THE HOUSE follows two brothers that come to blows over the sale of their family home. In the 1940s, their mother leaves everything she knew in Puerto Rico to begin a life built on love with their father, a well-meaning but oblivious white soldier from Florida. THE HOUSE examines the Latinx identity—how it has been constructed and depicted in the United States and how it may be truly felt by the individuals who claim it as part of their being. Ultimately, it is a lesson in where we come from and how it may define us, if we only let it.”
