A piece from a few years ago created for my solo show in France

Photography has always been a key part of my practice, from documenting the building process, to capturing the finished, fired work before it heads off to galleries and customers. I love how the textures come alive once lit in the right way. Light reveals every curve, shadow, and detail, highlighting the intentional tool marks I leave behind, each one a quiet trace of the making process.

I used to mentally beat myself up over this right here-either stressing about not having the time to create because of working, or giving myself a hard time if I only had the time to create work that I considered not “serious enough”🙄 Finally, I had a breakthrough to let all that go, just enjoy what I create, when I can create it, which freed me up to enjoy the creative outlets like coloring, random sketching, photography, photo editing or just taking notice the beauty & creativity that was around me in an organic & inspiring way. That’s important too!
