Today’s program chair, Amy Lewis of the Greenville Advocate, brought us a true community treasure. She invited Tracy Eason to share all the exciting happenings at the Georgiana Opry House.

They are also looking for volunteers, so if you’d like to help keep the curtain rising and the lights shining, reach out through the Georgiana Opry House page.

We were also treated to something truly special. Greenville High School Key Club President Jalen Jones performed a breathtaking saxophone solo of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman. 🎷✨

Jaylen earned 1st Place at the Alabama Key Club District Convention Talent Competition this weekend with that very performance and now has the opportunity to represent Alabama at the International Convention in Dallas this July. The cost to attend is ICON is $1,350, and fundraising efforts are already being planned. We hope our community will rally behind him and any other students with dreams big enough to chase all the way to Dallas.

While at District Convention, Greenville High School Key Club also received:
🏆 End of Convention Spirit Award
📈 Convention Growth Recognition
🏅 Stanley T. Johnson Outstanding President Award – presented to Jalen Jones
👏 Jalen also received recognition for serving as a committee member, including the Finance & Fundraising Committee

And in a moment of pride for our hometown club, Kiwanis Club President Michelle Styron received the Hoyt Lee Kiwanian of the Year Award.

From opera houses to saxophones, from service awards to standing ovations, today’s meeting was a reminder that when a community shows up for its youth and its arts, extraordinary things happen.

Greenville, you continue to make us proud. 💙
