One of the reasons that led to our difficult decision to close Touching Ground Gallery is to give Owner/Director the chance to move to Vermont. While the gallery has closed out its last exhibition, we will be hosting an Artist Moving Sale for Shaena Neal. A large selection of her framed pieces and photography prints will be available at a discounted price. In addition, there will be frames, art supplies, old cameras and gear, books, fine clothing and bags, and some various odds and ends.

We hope you'll be able to take this opportunity to visit the gallery a final time and support our director as she enters into a new chapter. This Saturday, 11-3, and Saturday, Nov 23, 11-3pm.

This is the last weekend for Ephemeral Touch: the Final Show at Touching Ground! An exhibition full of remarkable vision and talent, with familiar artists to the gallery and some new faces that we just could not close without representing. Some of the most impactful things are momentary and fleeting, so come by the gallery this weekend for your last visit to the space. We will have one last event this Saturday, 5-8pm, to commemorate the beautiful and creative community that has filled this space over the last year. I hope you'll be able to join us for this Closing Reception.

Closing Reception: Saturday, Nov 9th, 5-8pm.

Saturday, November 9th, 5-8pm, will be the Closing Reception for our current exhibition: Ephemeral Touch. This show consists of 17 Kentucky artists and artisans. The title is a node to the precious in-between moments of life: fleeting things can have the most significant impacts. This event will simultaneously be the finale of Touching Ground Gallery, as we will be closing the gallery. In celebration of a great year with this gallery, let's bring together the beautiful community that has grown within it: a community that thrives through creativity, meaningful discussion, and much needed reflection. It has truly been an honor to host this space and represent such talented artists, each with profound vision. I do hope that you all will be able to join us.

We are honored to bring back for our final workshop at Touching Ground Gallery. These printmaking classes have been a favorite and a repeat at the gallery for good reason: a fun and accessible way to stretch your creativity and take away your own work of art. Brenna is a wonderful instructor, and it has been a joy working with her.

Join us on Sunday, November 3rd, 2-5pm, for this Linocut Printmakimg Workshop. Only $40/person, which includes all materials, plus light refreshments.

Came into the gallery to see these had been slipped under the door. Had a nice long conversation about photography and art with a Georgetown local on Saturday. He had been pushed away from his passion for not feeling appreciated and not finding a place for his art to thrive. He struggled to find support, so he dropped it completely due to frustration. This story is all too common for creatives and the art scene. It means so much that David feels "re-inspired" to photograph again for the sake of his passion.

These are the connections that brought so much life into this gallery, and one of the reasons it is so difficult to close the doors now. Let's all make an effort to welcome people in and be open to discussion beyond surface level. You might be surprised at the impact you have through simple interactions.

Thank you, David, for reminding me why I cultivated this space in the first place. Genuine touches with reality. Grounding with community.

It's almost Opening Weekend of our final show!
We have a full weekend at the gallery. Come on by for regular hours to check out the new art, and maybe have a little chat about it with (Friday & Saturday 12-5pm).

Saturday at 6:30pm, will be joining us in the Lounge for an evening of easy listening and mingling. Get ready for Halloween-y house show vibes as we set the scene with candles; feel free to bring a cushion and your favorite beverage. The concert is donation-based— you can grab your ticket at https://events.humanitix.com/concert-brandon-costello

Sunday afternoon, 2-5pm, will be facilitating a yogic Art exploration. Come us for tea sipping and meaningful conversation as we deepen our understanding of yamas and niyamas, part of the 8-limbs of yogic philosophy. An autumn-inspired watercolor practice will allow us to practice the knowledge in creative and meditative ways. Tickets are $30/person, and you can reserve your place at https://events.humanitix.com/yogic-art-exploration-yamas-and-niyamas

See you at the gallery this weekend!

To our fellow Thinkers, Makers, and Creative Community: Touching Ground Gallery will be closing its doors by mid-November. We are currently installing our final exhibition, which will be open for this coming weekend, Oct 18-20th. The show is "Ephemeral Touch" and includes 15 Kentucky artists and artisans, and will be up until Nov 9th. Open every Fri & Sat 12-5pm; available for scheduled private viewings.

Closing the gallery was a difficult decision, but it was necessary in the pursuit of some life course alterations (for me, Owner & Director ). I am beyond grateful to the artists and creative community for the collaboration and support over the last year. It has truly been an enriching experience. I can say with confidence that this Gallery has been filled with lots of meaningful discussion; I hope that this space and the art represented has offered you some reflection and inspiration.

This weekend will be full of events to celebrate the Opening: the candle-lit concert on Saturday and yogic watercolor workshop on Sunday (which have both been previously shared).

Our Closing Reception, for the show and for the gallery, will be Saturday, Nov 9th, 5-9pm.

We will be seeing you all very soon!
