Tidelands Community Hospice is proud to be a Community Partner with the Swamp Fox Players for "Grace & Glorie", a heartfelt and often humorous story about a fiercely independent 90-year-old woman who chooses to spend her final days at home, and the hospice volunteer who cares for her.

As their time together unfolds, their unlikely relationship grows into one of understanding, resilience, and compassion. The play offers a powerful look at end-of-life care, human connection, and what matters most.

This production closely reflects our mission to provide compassionate, interdisciplinary care for patients and their families.

As the only nonprofit, locally based hospice serving Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg counties, we are honored to support a story that mirrors the care we provide in our community every day.

Synopsis:

This is a story of 2 opposites coming together and learning from each other. The play is similar to Steel Magnolias in its use of humor to soften the tearjerker moments. Glorie, learning how the other half lives, provides laughter but cannot be played for laughs or slapstick. Grace has accepted her fate and Glorie has to get accustomed to her sometimes sharp delivery and laisse faire attitude, Grace also is naturally funny and her delivery needs to be matter of fact, not punched up for laughs.

📖✨ From Scrapbooks to Spotlights ✨📖

In July 1982, volunteers came together to clean up the Strand Theater, an effort captured in the Georgetown Times and preserved in our scrapbooks. 🧹

These snapshots remind us of the dedication and community spirit that built the foundation for our theater home.

Today, you can carry that spirit forward by joining us for Challenge 54. Help us raise $54,000 for the Strand Theater - Home of the Swamp Fox Players’ future.

Every gift makes our stage shine brighter. 🌟
