Tomorrow is opening night! The students at Gentry have been working so hard on this show and you’re not going to want to miss it. They bring S.E. Hinton’s classic work to life on stage and it is a phenomenal show!

Hey there, great news! Gentry Theatre will be producing two phenomenal shows this year, our Fall Play will be The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, adapted by Christopher Sergel! This adaptation of the beloved novel follows Ponyboy and his friends as they navigate the storms of adolescence and identity while also struggling with a rival group of teens. Our Spring Musical will be Guys and Dolls by Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling, and Abe Burrows! A story of love and redemption that follows gamblers Sky Masterson and Nathan Detroit and their counterparts missionary Sarah Brown and dancer Miss Adelaide as they wrestle with love, commitment, honesty, and even a little bit of Craps playing. Auditions for The Outsiders will take place afterschool on August 18th, 19th, and 20th and are open to high school students and auditions for Guys and Dolls will take place on August 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th and will be open to high school and middle school students. When we get back to school be on the lookout for a sign up sheet for audition times on the auditorium doors. Hope to see you soon, it’s going to be an incredible year!

Obviously we’re biased, but we love our fellow performing arts programs here at Gentry! Please go out and support them at Harps today!

Come support us on Friday! We will be hosting a car wash fundraiser from 11 am-3 pm. All we ask is for donations for the band program. Cash and Venmo are both accepted. If you cannot make it to the car wash but still like to support, you may Venmo the Gentry band boosters -bandboosters. All donations will go to paying for meals for the season, supplies, and snacks and drinks for the band students. Thank you!

As a reminder, we have a show on Thursday night at 7, a Matinee on Saturday at 3, and a Saturday evening show at 6:30! Good evening! I have some updated news about Gentry Theatre’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid! Due to some scheduling conflicts we had to push our performances to the week of March 10th, and had originally planned for a show on the 13th, 14th, and 15th. But again, due to some unforeseen circumstances we’ve had to swap Friday night’s show for a Saturday Matinee. So the run will be Thursday at 7:00, Saturday at 3:00, and 6:30! Good morning! I hope that you’ve stayed warm and safe over the last couple of days, I don’t know about you but I’m ready for Spring to show up! I wanted to make you aware of a change in the dates of Gentry Theatre’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. This comes after much thought and consideration, but with the recent run of snow days and other contributing factors I’ve made the decision to push the dates to March 13-15th. If you’ve bought tickets, those tickets will transfer to the date of your choice and if those dates no longer work for you and your family, we will refund the cost of your ticket.
