These two beauties came out of the kiln today. The ability to work here as a team is nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Over the past 11 years the way we’ve all come together is nothing but amazing. God really knew what he was doing when he brought us together.

Each one of these started out as a very large vases, I believe I made these from about 14 Pounds of clay and 12 pounds of Clay .After forming the vessel, about two days later, I then flipped them upside down and trimmed the bottom finishing the shape of the vessel. Then Karen worked her magic, adding the faces to each one and bringing Life to the vessel. After a long period of drying, they were fired once in a kiln and Karen prepped the faces for glazing and once that was done I got them one last time and using a spray gun layered four different glazes to achieve the effect you see. The pots were loaded one last time and fired melting the glazes producing these beautiful pots. They will live in a wonderful home in Texas. (thank you Steve and Robin.)

Each day in the shop is a blessing and we’re honored that each, and every one of our followers enjoy what we do!
I look forward to the next one’s!

The first time I read this verse from Jeremiah 18:2 was when I worked for Richard Collison at Palms up pottery, (1998-2006) there was a plaque on the wall, with this verse. At that time, did I understand it ,absolutely not .I really didn’t pay a lot of attention to it.

Sometimes we think life is moving real fast and in some ways it is. We don’t feel like a lot happens. But If you look back and reflect a lot can happen in a year. Sometimes things we never had a clue about, we now have a clue about or our eyes are opened mysteriously or is it mysterious ? 1 year ago I thought things just happened , not true. The truth is always in front of us if we’re just willing to open our eyes to it.

Even being in pottery, as long as I have, in some ways I had gotten away from my true love, my true passion never understood this gift. Becoming a craftsman was a gift given to me by the one true God being able to create, and then using this gift to make somebody’s day feel better with a cup of coffee or even as I’m learning now watching a Potter work and help someone understand that when we’re not exactly right, things are off , God the potter can get us re-centered and make it beautiful again. Sometimes these little imperfections in us or just like the imperfection in a pot make us beautiful

Also, I’ve been very fortunate to have families, couples and friends come in and spend some time with us for a couple hours. They get to be unplugged from the noise of the world and make everlasting memories. It’s an honor to be a part of so many people’s lives.

I walk into the shop with a new purpose now, a new outlook, it’s very refreshing.

I just wanna say thank you to each and every one of you that have supported us over the years. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit. If we’ve never visited with you we look forward to meeting you!

What message will you get the next time you visit?

Take care God bless!

Happy Tuesday to everyone! It was an honor assisting with the pottery side of the sermon during during last weeks services at Pathways church in Sevierville, Tennessee.

In case you missed the live stream here is the video of that sermon.

If you would’ve told the old me a year ago, I would’ve been helping a Pastor get ready for a sermon. I would’ve never believed you.

We never know when our lives are gonna be changed forever and for the good. It’s not hard if you’re ready ,go for it.

Love all of you! Have a great week!

The Bible contains many references to the Potter and clay, but beyond simply shaping us, we can trust Him, knowing He can even mend our broken pieces.

On this memorial day, we should all take a moment to remember the real reason why we recognize this day. It’s not for the ones that are currently in service or have served. It’s for the ones that paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.

Have a great day and enjoy this holiday wherever you are!
