The Center for Craft is thrilled to announce the WNC Craft Futures Cohort! As part of our continuing storm relief efforts, we have invested in the longer-term recovery of 40 craft artists from our community, chosen by an esteemed panel, as they rebuild their artistic practices in Western North Carolina post-Helene. Together, the 33 artists in the WNC Craft Futures Cohort and the seven Virginia A. Groot Craft Futures Residents have each received a grant of $15,000 and are participating in six months of peer-to-peer learning and programs focused on forming a more resilient craft community. Their work will be featured in โWNC Craft Futures: From Here,โ a group exhibition on view in the Center for Craftโs Bresler Family Gallery from April 11 to August 30.
Please join us in celebrating the WNC Craft Futures Cohort and Virginia A. Groot Craft Futures Residents at the Community Reception and Open Studios on Thursday, June 12.
Many thanks to our incredible funders and partners, who have made our relief and recovery efforts possible, including many first-time individual donors nationwide.
