WHAT A WEEKEND! WE’VE BEEN BUSY!

If you blinked this weekend, you might have missed us! Between podcasts, puppies, special events, and Jurassic Park Motorpool, the Welcome to Jurassic Parties herd has been running on dino fuel and very little sleep! 😂

We kicked off Thursday night with Ron Rossman (Be Your Own Hero Productions) and Rob Cochran recording an episode of Toxic Tiers from 7:30–10:30 PM, this time talking all about 90s sitcoms!

There was plenty of nostalgia, lots of laughs, and probably a few opinions about 90s TV that may or may not have been questionable.

Friday morning I wasn't feeling quite like myself, but thankfully I was feeling much better by the afternoon! So what did I do? I went and picked up a new medical foster from Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement!

Meet Pepper, an elderly Chihuahua who has completely stolen our hearts. She is the sweetest little gal, and we're so happy to give her a comfy place to land while she gets the love and care she deserves.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the Make M Smile event at Caromont Health Park from 9:30 AM - 1 PM! This is one of the biggest events celebrating children with special needs, and we were incredibly honored to be part of it. ❤️

Hope, Kristi, Lindsey, and I were joined by Princess the baby Velociraptor, Izzy the baby Stegosaurus, Charlene the baby Triceratops, and Royal the baby Velociraptor. The dinosaurs were a HUGE hit!

We handed out dinosaur-themed bracelets, pencils, and bubbles, and got to spend the morning making some pretty awesome memories with some amazing kids.

We didn't get many photos ourselves because we were too busy having fun, but we were lucky enough to be tagged in some photos from the event!

And WOW was it HOT! 🥵By 1 PM, the dinosaurs were definitely ready for a nap. But our day wasn't over yet! After packing everything up, we headed home for approximately 30–45 minutes before getting ready for our next adventure.

At 5:30 PM, the Jurassic Park Motorpool: Carolinas Division and Welcome to Jurassic Parties crew rolled into Stowe Park in Belmont for Outdoor Movie Night!

And if you haven't already guessed what movie they were showing... JURASSIC PARK! The movie started at 8 PM, but the Jurassic fun started long before that!

We had SIX Jurassic Park vehicles on site, including an ACU trailer that transported something VERY special... FLOSSIE!

Kristi, Izzy, Lindsey, Charlene, Cher, and Twyla spent the evening visiting with families and kids before it was finally time for Flossie to make her grand entrance!

And let me tell you... THE CROWD LOVED HER!

There is just something magical about watching a Jurassic Park movie under the stars while actual Jurassic Park vehicles and a T-Rex are right there beside you!

Thank you Aurora Star Lit Cinema for inviting us out!

By Sunday, we were all pretty much running on empty. After a weekend packed with dinosaurs, events, and a whole lot of fun, everyone definitely needed a little recovery time!

But the adventures don’t stop there! We’ve got plenty more coming up this month, so be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook Events calendar to see where you can find the herd next!

XOXO

WHAT A MAD MONSTER WEEKEND!

We were absolutely ROARING with excitement when we were invited to Mad Monster Expo at the Embassy Suites in Concord, NC and WOW… what a weekend it was!

First, we have a very special thank-you to give to Ron Rossmann from Be Your Own Hero Productions! Ron was the one who told Mad Monster about us and helped get Flossie on their radar in the first place. Without that introduction, this incredible opportunity may never have happened!

So, THANK YOU, RON! We appreciate you thinking of us and helping open the door to such an amazing experience. You helped send Flossie into a weekend of monsters, celebrities, Ghostbusters, Ringwraiths, hotel shenanigans, and more than a few startled faces.

Flossie wasn't there Friday, but Saturday and Sunday more than made up for it. By the end, we were all completely exhausted… but smiling, laughing, and already talking about some of our favorite moments!

Saturday was especially wild and extra special because our friends Jesse, Julie, Ryan, and Dax came out to help us! Dax is Jesse's service dog and, of course, he was an absolute good boy while helping the dinosaur crew.

They were also there helping promote The Windrow Estate, an incredible one-day haunt happening October 31st! And we REALLY want people to check this one out.

Ryan is only 18 years old and is spearheading this project with the help of his family. He has been putting an incredible amount of thought, creativity, and DETAIL into this haunt, and from what we've seen, this is going to be something pretty special.

If you love haunted houses and Halloween, go check out what Ryan and his family are creating!

🎃 Check out The Windrow Estate on YouTube:

And make sure you check out the Shorts section, too!

We are so grateful to Jesse, Julie, Ryan, and Dax for coming out, helping us wrangle the dinosaur, and supporting both Flossie and their own spooky project.

Flossie spent some time trying to scare and intimidate unsuspecting guests in front of our friends at the Southern Belle Ghostbusters table. 👻

And then… ERIK ESTRADA. 😳

Erik filmed Flossie saying that she was AWESOME, and let's just say Flossie's puppeteer thought her life was complete at that exact moment. Because yes… Erik Estrada was her (and Kristi's) childhood crush back in her CHiPs days. He really does look the same! So handsome! 🥰

Flossie also unintentionally scared a few celebrities! She was positioned in an open area near a door, and several celebrities would come through the door, suddenly see a T-Rex standing there, and hear her roaring.

We can't imagine why that would be startling. 🤣

But one of the most touching moments of the entire weekend happened when a security team member came over and asked if their coworker's son, who has sensory issues, could come meet Flossie, as long as she didn't roar. Of course we said YES. ❤️

Those are the moments that mean the most to us. Flossie doesn't have to roar to make someone smile. Sometimes the best dinosaur encounters are the quiet ones. 🥹

Then came Sunday!

Mad Monster had Flossie and the Ringwraith walking around from 10:30–11:00 AM while people were lining up for the day's events. And Flossie may have had a tiny… bonk incident. 😬

She accidentally bumped someone in the head and we are SO sorry! Flossie would like to formally apologize and remind everyone that having a giant dinosaur head comes with some spatial-awareness challenges.

Around 11:00, Flossie decided she was going to check into the hotel. The Embassy Suites staff politely informed her that she could not check in. 😂But they DID take lots of photos with her, so we're calling that a successful hotel visit!

And then Flossie "terrorized" the people at Starbucks.

Except…

They didn't look scared.

They just pulled out their phones and started taking pictures.

We also had an absolutely wonderful moment with the Embassy Suites staff, and we want to give them a HUGE thank-you for making that one of our favorite moments of the entire event.

Throughout the weekend, so many people stopped to take photos with Flossie. Even Atreyu, Amanda's service dog, got plenty of attention! And we're especially proud to report that Atreyu is officially no longer afraid of Flossie.

To everyone who stopped, laughed, took a picture, said hello, shared a kind word, or simply let a very large dinosaur invade your weekend…

THANK YOU.

And to Mad Monster, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Concord Golf Resort & Spa, Southern Belle Ghostbusters, Kristi, Julie, Jesse, Ryan, Dax, JazzHands Cosplay, the incredible guests, security teams, staff, celebrities, and everyone who helped make this weekend so memorable, thank you!

We're exhausted.

We're happy.

And Flossie is already asking when she gets to do it again.

XOXO

DINO DAYS WAS A ROARING SUCCESS!

Yesterday was one for the prehistoric record books at the Gastonia Ghost Peppers’ Dino Days, alongside our friends at the Schiele Museum! And let’s just say… Flossie may have caused a few Jurassic Park-level security concerns.

First up, Flossie got the honor of “throwing out” the first pitch… well, sort of. She had the ball in her mouth, but those tiny T. rex arms weren't exactly built for baseball, so T-Rex Handler Chip had to wrestle the ball away and make the actual throw!

T. rex. Short arms. You understand.

The WHOLE herd was out for the evening! And because you can never be too prepared when five dinosaurs show up at a baseball game, ACU Andre arrived to keep everyone in check. The Jurassic Park Motor Pool was also on-site, and even the Park Chaplain made an appearance.

Because when you have dinosaurs AND baseball… well, you never know what might happen. 😂

Flossie also joined in on a ROARING CONTEST and did her best to help Bridget spell some dinosaur names. Her spelling assistance may have been slightly limited by the fact that Flossie doesn't speak English or know how to spell. 🤣

AND WE HAVE TO GIVE A HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO OUR CREW!

A massive THANK YOU to Kristi, Lindsey, Arron, and Lizzie, who worked incredibly hard alongside us throughout the day. And an extra-special thank you to our honorary crew members, Gigi and Brandi, who jumped in and helped make everything run smoothly!

You all were out there during the HOTTEST part of the day, helping with dinosaurs, equipment, logistics, keeping everyone hydrated, and doing whatever needed to be done.

Behind every successful dinosaur appearance is a crew of absolutely wonderful humans willing to sweat like they're being chased by a pack of raptors. We appreciate every single one of you more than you know!❤️

And despite the afternoon heat trying its best to turn us into prehistoric jerky, it was an absolutely fantastic evening!

A HUGE thank-you to the Matt, the Gastonia Ghost Peppers and the Schiele Museum for having Flossie and the herd out for such a fun Dino Days celebration! ⚾🦖 We had a blast!

XOXO

TODAY IS DINO DAY!

Gastonia, get ready to ROAR! Tonight, Flossie and the herd are headed to Caromont Health Park for Dino Days with the Gastonia Ghost Peppers!

🕕 Gates open at 6:00 PM!

We’ll be there alongside our friends at The Schiele Museum, and we have something VERY exciting to announce…

The upcoming opening of the Hall of Dinosaurs!

Come out, say hello to Flossie and the herd, learn a little about these incredible prehistoric creatures, and enjoy a night of baseball, dinosaurs, and family fun!

And yes… Flossie has been practicing her baseball swing. We strongly recommend the Ghost Peppers keep an eye on third base. 😂

XOXO

🦖🦕 COME HANG OUT WITH THE HERD! 🦕🦖

We’re headed back to Cabarrus Brewing Company on September 12th from 12–4 PM, and you KNOW things are about to get a little prehistoric! 😄

Come say hello to the herd:

🦖 Flossie will be stomping around and making sure everyone knows who’s boss.
🦕 Izzy will be spitting at random people… because apparently that’s her love language. 😂
🦖 Princess will try not to steal anyone’s food. No promises.
🦕 Charlene will be doing what Charlene does best… being her wonderfully chaotic little self. 😂

Come grab some food, enjoy the festivities, and stop by to see your favorite dinosaurs! We can’t wait to see you there!

XOXO
