One day my husband came home from work and told me he wanted his garage back! So I decided to open a little shop and continue to do my hobby. I couldn't see giving it up! I opened and quickly out grew the space I was in. I then found a larger location, one where I could have a work space, a classroom, a showroom and space for others to sell their precious works. Vintage Market of Fort Myers has it

all. It offers custom furniture painting, workshops for learning to paint your own furniture, showroom full of repurposed and painted furniture, home decor,antiques, collectables and local artists selling their treasures. That is how Time Gone By became The Vintage Market of Fort Myers. We have since rebranded to Pickin' Boots Vintage.

So recently I was on Decoupage Queen for scrap week. I used my scrap decoupage papers, resin pieces and misc. to create a journal from an antique leather checkbook holder. Still more work to do but just had to share.

Tomorrow, May 19, Tuesday at 2 PM EST I’ll be live on the Decoupage Queen page for Scrap Week… and I’m turning a forgotten antique leather checkbook holder into a layered vintage journal using decoupage paper scraps, old handwritten notes, packaging leftovers, banking ephemera, and all sorts of creative bits most people would throw away.

This project is all about turning scraps into treasure and creating something that feels collected, storied, and beautifully worn over time.

We’ll be layering papers, adding old-world details, digging through scraps together, and deciding live what stays, what gets covered, and what pieces tell the best story.

Honestly… I think this may become one of my favorite projects yet. I need your help!
