Had the pleasure of painting this adjustable basketball pole, for the Garner Public swimming pool. Just have to finish the backboard and it’ll be ready for the summer swimming season. Thanks to Travis Nelson for blasting it and giving me the opportunity.

To help take some of the delays out of waiting for parts. I’ve been in the works of working on a full billet backer. When I say I, I mean I hired out someone to do the design work. It was above my abilities. Thanks to Andrew, he was able get all the threads in just how I was asking. This was a nylon 3d test print to make sure everything works as they should. As Rob Basile suggested this will help with eliminating any minute runout, making them even smoother. This will help with production, and best yet, keep prices the same. More billet doesn’t always mean more money. Quick but crappy video to show the test was successful! Stay tuned ゚viralシ .

This is a bitter sweet post. If you been looking at the website for bell backers. You’ll notice they are out of stock, and taking pre orders. This isn’t a mistake. You all have been sharing your backers and positive words about them that word spread far faster than I had ever imagined. So much so, that demand has surpassed supply. Even with trying to plan ahead when this started coming, I couldn’t plan for delays in the supply chain from 3m, for the insert pieces I need. Please don’t let this discourage you. I am still taking orders, and when supplies get back in, I’ll be fulfilling those in the order received, as fast as I can. So there is a delay, but I am trying my best behind the scene to make the time frame as short as possible without hiccups. The bitter part is I’m out of supplies, the sweet part is that all of you have taken the time to share, post positive things, and that why I’m out of stock. Thank you all!

I’m curious for those that have purchased any Bell backer options off the website. Have you received a tracking number? It’s suppose to be automatic when I create a shipping label, to send the package, that the system sends the recipient an email with tracking. Just wanting to make sure that it is working correctly.

Here I’m switching to a hard foam block to sand the 400 grit. We’re past the stages of removing the orange peel from the high build primer, or any small imperfections. This is now just to remove the previous grits scratches. Even with the finer grit you can still screw things up. So you still want to sand the panel as you would before with proper techniques. Sanding in a cross pattern at about 45°, being aware of body lines and the shape of the project. I still use guide coat but also use my hand to wipe off the body as I sand. I found deeper scratches show white with dust, when sanding with the finer grits. Switch paper often as it can dull and clog easily here. With 220 the surface still has a coarseness to it as you wipe your hand over it. With 400 grit you start to get what I can only describe as a soft feel to the panel, as you put your hand across it. ゚viralシ

As I’m working on projects and I think of tips or ideas that can possibly help someone along the way I try to post. This reason here of showing how the center can rise. Especially if you are pushing down on the edge. Is a good reason why I don’t like the name brand acrylic blocks, with the balls on the end for handles. Gives you pressure points that can raise the center, and no good way to change hand position. Next Level Blocks
