Why are our dancers learning to sew? 🧵✂️
Because being prepared for the professional world means learning what happens beyond the stage.
At The Ascension Collective, we’re not simply training dancers. We’re developing well-rounded, knowledgeable artists who understand their craft and the industry surrounding it.
This week, our Collective artists stepped away from the dance floor for their first sewing class, learning hands-on skills that connect directly to the world they’re preparing to enter.
Costumes rip. Wardrobe malfunctions happen. Auditions require preparation. Professional dancers are expected to problem-solve, adapt and understand far more than choreography.
So we teach them more.
The Ascension Collective was created to bridge the gap between being a student dancer and becoming a working artist.

Creative exploration.
Life skills.
Because the goal isn’t simply to raise great dancers.
It’s to prepare artists who know what to do when the music stops, too. ♾️
