one big ass charcoal still-life anyone? 😅

this piece is one of my favorite ones I have ever done. It is actually my first charcoal piece I have ever made! And MANNNN was it a challenge. Learning how to manipulate charcoal and embrace the messiness of it was A TIME. But I have come to fall in love with this medium (even when it drives me slightly insane), it has quickly become one of my favorite mediums to work with. More charcoal to come! Current charcoal project is not a still-life, in fact it is quite the opposite 😅 it is based on a live-action photo, which is why it’s taking me FOREVER haha, a lot of trial and error. But progress is being made it that one will be finished soon!!!

The snake represents rebirth, transformation and healing. For me, this piece represents the beauty found within the endless transformations and healing that we all endure in all of our lifetimes. I hope that for some, it can serve as a reminder that no matter what you’ve been through, all the growth you’ve made through even the toughest, messiest moments - made you who you are now. And there is beauty in that.

Or maybe you just really f**k with snakes!

This design is available as a print online and in person at any upcoming events! I will be at the Gardner Farmers Market tomorrow - Saturday, July 18th, from 9:30am-1pm. Come say hi!!🖤🐍
