It’s been a week since my studio’s open house and I am still riding that high! Opening this space for all of you to see and feel out meant the world to me.
As an artist, I haven’t always dreamed about having my own studio/gallery because it seemed so far fetched. It wasn’t until the last 3 years that I’ve realized I can actually do the damn thing! And do it confidently. I have paved my way to this point through doubt, frustration, uncertainty, fear, and imposter syndrome. I once had a teacher that said “Art isn’t a real career, Ariel” and that crushed me! But then i thought “Just because it didn’t work out for you on broadway doesn’t mean my dreams are doomed”
In short, i have kept that little interaction in the back of my mind to keep me moving forward.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this dream. đź’• So many pieces found their new homes, and a piece of me went with them.

This piece explores that quiet moment of curiosity and connection between two very different creatures sharing the same space.

Check out what I just got in the mail! 36”x38” claybord! This is the largest piece I have ever worked on and I already have an idea, so stay tuned 🤩

You’re probably thinking.. “wait is this the same thing as scratchboard? It’s white” and the answer is YES! I just have to paint a few layers of black india ink onto this bad boy before we can get started.
