Introducing Daybreak 🖤

The second piece in my Reverence collection.

I’ve always been drawn to the beauty and almost mystical presence of wolves. There’s something about them that feels both powerful and resilient, and I think that’s part of what makes them so special to so many people. They hold such an important place here, and their presence means so much to the people who feel connected to them.

With Daybreak, I really wanted to explore the lighting and the way it brings the wolf out of the darkness. I love how light can create so much depth and emotion, and how it can make an animal feel almost otherworldly while still capturing the beauty of the real thing.

I’m so excited to finally share this piece with you and to continue building Reverence. 🖤

A few details from the first piece of Reverence. One of my favorite things about scratchboard is how much can happen in the smallest marks. Every bit of light, texture and shadow is built back into the darkness.

“Ladies Man”

This is the piece that started it all.

The first work I created for this collection.

I wanted to begin with something that felt powerful, but also quiet. Something that spoke to the presence these animals have held in this landscape for generations.

This piece has already found its home, and I couldn’t be happier that it gets to be the beginning of this story!!

For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a body of work that felt like more than just a collection of individual pieces. Something slower. Something more intentional.

Something rooted in my deep respect for the wildlife and landscapes that have inspired so much of my work.

I’ve been quietly building that collection.

It’s called Reverence.

And this is where it begins.
