Steps Dance School Steps Dance School: An inspiring, passionate, and nurturing dance experience. Our annual recital is held at Clifford Hope Auditorium in May.

We believe dance promotes patience, endurance, respect, artistic expression, and builds self-confidence. Steps Dance School offers individual dancer attention, respect towards each student, and guidance through the proper techniques. We work to give each student a good foundation in dance regardless of whether they decide to pursue dance as a career, a college degree, a hobby, or just for fun. Ste

ps is dedicated to being a part of Garden City and its surrounding communities by encouraging expression through movement, developing a love of dance, and an appreciation for the performing arts. Steps Dance School offers students ages 1 - adult opportunities to learn a variety of dance styles, including: ballet, musical theater, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, and Pilates. We have recently added a Fun With Music class for 1-3 year olds to attend with a parent or caregiver. Over the years our dancers have been able to attend locally hosted workshops taught by students from Juilliard, Focus on Dance Colorado, & Corina Kinnear along with attending conventions in other cities. Steps dancers have performed at local events such as Fall Festival, Tumbleweed, Fantasy Tree Festival, and Hillside Sessions. We break the dances up into two shows, so it can be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Another performance opportunity for our dancers is the biennial production of the Garden City Nutcracker, this is performed on the even years in December. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in two of the four productions. Steps Dance School is located on Kansas Ave. in the basement of High Plains Orthodontics, or west of Golden Plains Credit Union. If you are interested we have a few classes that dancers can drop in and try us out before they commit to an entire semester. Drop in Rates are $15 a class.

It's been a big couple weeks for Steps Dancers!

Shout out to all of our Steps Dancers who competed the last couple of weekends and did phenomenal!!!! As well as a huge shout out to our Dancers who participated in the Jester Awards performance in collaboration with the Garden City High School Theater cast of Chicago! They brought home a Best Production Number Award for "We Both Reached for the Gun."

Our Steps Company Team is holding open auditions on April 25th!!

If you’re looking to take your dance training to the next level, this is your chance!

Our company team goes through rigorous technique training in preparation for our competition season all while making unforgettable memories together. Your dancer will learn important life skills: teamwork, discipline, confidence, and so much more! We:
- perform at local events
- attend workshops and competitions
- support and encourage each other
- learn countless new skills along the way

Are you ready to join the team?

Audition Times Saturday, April 25th:
Ages 6-8 @ 4:00-4:30pm
Ages 9-12 @ 5:00-5:30pm
Ages 13-18 @ 6:00-7:00pm

REQUIRED Company Parent and Dancer Meeting Sunday 4/26 at 5:30pm
***Dancers need to be prepared with an idea of how many group dances they would like to be limited to.

Additional Audition Requirements:
- All dancers must have two years of dance experience and be currently enrolled at Steps Dance School.
- Ages 6-18

Company Dancers will attend a mandatory “Company Bootcamp” the week of July 27th-August 1st where they will learn ALL of their competition dance choreography.
