We are so excited for this concert!! Come out and hear some wonderful community music and support our local musicians.

The GCCC Department of Music invites the community to a special performance celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Southwest Kansas Community Concert on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas.

The milestone event will feature the Southwest Kansas Chorale, Southwest Kansas Community Orchestra, and the GCCC Concert Choir, bringing together musicians from across the region in a collaborative celebration of music in Southwest Kansas.

This year’s program highlights include John Rutter’s ‘Gloria’ performed by the choir and the ‘Finale from Firebird’ by Igor Stravinsky performed by the orchestra. The concert will also feature a flute concerto performed by Ammi Lopez, a local Garden City educator.

For any questions, please contact Sean Boller, GCCC Associate Professor of Vocal Music Choir, at [email protected].

"Oh Come, All Ye Faithful" on a not so "Silent Night" for our 50th anniversary season Christmas concert! Join us in coordination with the Southwest Kansas Community Orchestra as we present some arrangements of Christmas classics and the world premiere of a piece composed by Scott Logan in commemoration of our great milestone! We are honored that Scott was kind enough to travel from eastern Kansas for one of our rehearsals and work with us on his piece. The concert will also feature works performed by the GCCC Concert Choir and the GCCC College Singers. Thank you so much for supporting us for the last 50 years and we hope you will continue your support by hearing us this Sunday!

Please enjoy this short teaser of some of the music!
