We’re thrilled to be hosting Jake Freeman DeJongh’s record release concert at The Dixon in just a couple of weeks. As we get ready for the show, we’ve been thinking back to our very first collaboration with Jake during piKINics, our outdoor concert series created in partnership with KIN back in 2020!🎵

Born from a season when gathering in theaters wasn’t possible, piKINics invited us to reimagine performance outdoors and brought together an incredible community of artists, musicians, and collaborators. Looking back at these moments reminds us how many meaningful creative relationships were forged during that time, and how grateful we are to continue celebrating artists like Jake all these years later.🤩

Join us June 26 at The Dixon for a special evening celebrating the release of Prison of Tears and another chapter in Jake’s artistic journey.

Our July residents are here! We are thrilled to welcome Tracy Sunderland and Daniel Ojeda as the next artists joining the LED Artist Haven Residency at The Dixon.✨

Artist Haven is a partnership between LED and the Alexa Rose Foundation that provides artists with dedicated time, space, mentorship, and financial support to pursue ambitious creative work.

This July, Tracy Sunderland joins us as our Presenting Resident, receiving a $10,000 honorarium to support a one-month residency dedicated to creative exploration, experimentation, and the development of new ideas. Designed for artists seeking the time and resources to take risks and test new directions, the Presenting Residency supports work at many stages of development.

Daniel Ojeda joins us as our In-Process Resident, receiving a $3,000 honorarium to support a two-week residency from July 20-August 1, dedicated to research, experimentation, and work in development. Created for artists pursuing focused periods of experimentation, the In-Process Residency provides dedicated support for testing ideas, refining approaches, and advancing projects in progress.

Throughout July, The Dixon will become a site for inquiry, experimentation, and artistic exploration as each artist develops work within their own distinct practice, and both residencies will culminate in public sharing opportunities, offering our community a chance to experience these projects as they unfold. Stay tuned for additional details and opportunities to engage with the artists as they dive into new possibilities throughout their residencies at The Dixon!

We’re almost ready to share our July Artist Haven residents! While we wait, here’s a look back to when Doug Martsch graced The Dixon as an inaugural Artist Haven resident in January!🤩

For the month of January 2026, Doug utilized the performance space of the Dixon to construct, redefine, and build a new body of work that was shown in a final, free, public showing. Musicians and members of the LED family Matt Fabbi and Michael Mitchell joined Doug onstage for a night of truly spectacular showmanship, depth, and honest artistry. It was an honor to support his explorative process through the residency, and we are so grateful for the time spent with this remarkable artist!

As we prepare to share our July Artist Haven residents, here’s a look back at one of our inaugural artists, Jessica Joy Harned!🤩

For two weeks in January 2026, Jessica occupied the upstairs loft of The Dixon, crafting and exploring and finally sharing her gifts with us in a final showing. Through a powerful blend of live jazz and spoken word, she shared work that was bold, moving, and deeply thought-provoking. It was a privilege to support her artistic exploration during her residency, and we look forward to following the continued evolution of her remarkable creative journey.

Join us at The Dixon on June 26th for a very special night of music and celebration! Boise-based musician and longtime LED collaborator Jake Freeman DeJongh brings his newest body of work, PRISON OF TEARS, to the stage at the Dixon on June 26 for a special one-night-only record release concert. Performed live in its entirety, the evening will immerse audiences in DeJongh’s latest album while celebrating the spirit of collaboration and independent artistry that defines his work. Joining him are collaborators and fellow Idaho musicians from Prairie Blue and Cactus Moon, a collective of some of the region’s most compelling and innovative artists.
