Meet our leader,
Stephen Droddy is a professional drummer, producer, engineer, educator, and founder of Droddy Music Group, based in Galveston, Texas. With years of experience both on the road and in the studio, Stephen has built his career around one simple philosophy: serve the music, be prepared, and bring your best every time.
As the drummer for Billboard-charting blues/funk band Melon Jelly, Stephen brings a powerful, groove-driven approach to the stage while understanding that being a professional musician goes far beyond simply playing well. Reliability, attitude, preparation, consistency, and knowing how to work with other musicians are just as important as chops.
Away from the stage, Stephen works as a producer and audio engineer through Droddy Music Group, helping artists turn their ideas into finished recordings. His work includes music production, drum tracking, recording, mixing, session work, and audiobook production. He also teaches drums and bass, sharing the practical knowledge he’s gained from years of real-world performing and studio experience.
Stephen is proud to work with and represent Homer Made Custom Drums, Samsun Cymbals USA, Salyer Percussion drumsticks, and Thumpn’ Custom Drum Beaters—gear he personally uses both live and in the studio.
Whether he’s behind the drum kit, behind the console, teaching a student, or producing a project, Stephen’s goal remains the same:
