Galveston Lighthouse Productions is deeply grateful to AV Goat Productions for their incredible donation of lighting & sound equipment in support of Galveston Wind. This gift was made in memory of Jeremy Choate, a talented Houston lighting designer whose career illuminated countless performances and whose creativity inspired many in the arts community.

Though Jeremy is no longer with us, his love for theater and the light he brought to others continues on through this contribution. Every time our stage glows, it does so not only for the story we’re telling, but also as a quiet reflection of the artistry he shared with the world.

We are honored to acknowledge this gift in Jeremy’s name, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to AV Goat Productions for helping us bring this story to life.

🌊 1900 Storm Story Spotlight: Poppa Barney Barnhill 🌊

Barney Barnhill was just a young boy when the Great Storm of 1900 struck Galveston. He survived the night of devastation and carried those memories with him for the rest of his life.

As he grew older, “Poppa Barney” became one of Galveston’s most well-known storytellers. Through his words, generations came to understand not only the destruction of the storm but also the resilience and spirit of the survivors.

His stories kept the memory of the 1900 Storm alive, ensuring that the lessons, losses, and legacies of that fateful night would never be forgotten.
