Al Garvin, owner of Al's Retro Alley has drilled bowling balls for over 20 years and offers professional and personal fitting of your equipment. You can purchase the latest ball releases as well as bowling bags, shoes, and bowlers aids. Two lanes have been installed to try out your equipment onsite. Coaching is available for the beginner or the advanced bowler. Part of the "retro"experience is the

old Brunswick B-10 setter and above ground ball return removed from a church installed in 1912. The other lane is a Brunswick A-2 installed originally in the 60's at Ohio Northern University which features automatic scoring and automatic returns. Newer Brunswick Pro Anvilane synthetic lane beds are installed alongside the old wood lanes to mix a little old and new. You can take a step back in time to improve your bowling for the future.

Finishing up the weekend at Al's ,were teams ...Wyandot Wobblers and Looney Tunes. Top scores for the men were Tim Glick 223/608 and Donny Mac 605. Leading the ladies was Amanda Fagan 494, who beat up on her husband by 4 sticks. Jordan may have been shook up when early in the set his ball came back cracked and the finger holes disappeared. Almost matching the standout Wussy performance from the day before was Jane Glick with 3. Jane also threw a strike that it seemed like the pins were flying off the deck before the ball even got there.....amazing. All of the days events were witnessed and recorded by our score keeper and photographer Jack and Beth Book. And there were a lot of events! AL even had to dig into his pockets a 2nd time to pay off the colored head pin strikers. Thanks to my pinboys Eric, Bill, Ross, and my pingirl Lexi ! Bill can pick up 4 pins at a time and even catch one with his head. Competition continues this Friday and Saturday .

Saturday nights teams for the NCOBPA Mixed Tourney were Chicks & Dicks(must have had middle names of Richard ?) and Strike Force. Leading the scoring for the men was Derrick Gault with a fine 285 game and 734 series. Derrick did have Al remove an unidentified western fungus of some sort from his bowling balls before competition. Brandon Mount rolled a 276 game and a 632 series....just barely sneaking past his wife Kandis who was the leading lady with a 226 game and 624 series. One of the highlights of the evening was a strong showing by Stacie Napper who was professionally photographed by our scorekeeper Chris Traxler, not once, not twice, not even three times, but a new record of 4 time Wussy five pins. Even the pinboys were a little overwhelmed with the sign, the rubber hand, the name calling, etc. She wasn't the only one with that honor, as others also participated. It was a fun night. A lot more of Al's dollars left his pocket as well. Thanks again to my pinboys and scorekeeper !

It was another fun weekend at the NCOBPA Mixed Tourney at Al's Retro Alley. Saturday kicked off with team..Throw It Better Next Time. Brandon and Tabby Keirns led the way with 560 and 537. I'm sure all will say we need to throw it better next time, except Alexis who bowled over average. They all did manage to strike when it mattered with a colored head pin and took some of Al's moldy money. Tabby got her pic taken for a 5 pin and a bucket, and Shayne was a Wussy Man repeater. Thanks to my pinboys DD, Eric and Bill !

The NCOBPA Mixed Tourney kicked off this weekend. There were several Wussy Man participants , Chris, Heather, and Vicky all avoided buying rounds. There was one Bucket left by Char who successfully snuck her ball under the bucket for the spare. Char also somehow got stuck for a beer frame 7 times. The team score to beat is 2811, team FUT ,with Patricia Horsley being the high scratch lady at 586 and Chris O Traxler with a 718 after surviving a major injury to a minor body part involving a wayward grip sack late in the set. Competition and fun continues this weekend at Al's Retro Alley. Thanks to my pinboys Bill and Eric for the excellent racks and my wife Melinda for the excellent snacks !

It is time again for the NCOBPA Tournament at Al's Retro Alley ! This year will be a little different in format. This is a Mixed Team Event made up of teams of 4. Each team must have a minimum of 2 ladies. This will be a great format for two couples to form a team. But can be any combo as long as there are 2 ladies. For all the previous Ladies Tournament Bowlers that want to still have a lady's night out, just get a team, or two, of 4 ladies together and book a time with Al . This will be a fun tournament with pinboys/pingirls and score keepers. There may be some fun twists added in as well. Call or text Al to set a time 419-561-1994. Some weekdays may be available as well as the weekends. Flyers and entries should be available at the participating centers. Bluefusion, Bowlmor, Cooper's, Dynasty, Morrow, Penn, Suburban, Victory, and Wyandot. Teams do not have to be made up out of the same leagues.

Congrats to this years NCOBPA Ladies Champions. Mansfield's Finest. Lex Lanes team of Tammy Graves, Julia West, Lynn Chatman, Sandy Eulett, and Susie Shaw with a score of 3537. The Marion team Xpensive Wino's took the lead a week prior with a 3474, only to be tied the next day by the Wyandot Lanes team Rolling Angels also with 3474. Individual leaders in their handicap divisions were Courtney Hartline 726, and Michelle Freeman 760. Scratch leaders were Heather Webb 465, and Sandy Eulett 608. Besides the tie for the lead, which was exciting with a week to go, the big story was the winning team. Two of the ladies did not have their equipment that day, locked in their center in their lockers, but decided to bowl anyways. One bowler used a team mates ball and alley shoes and another grabbed an alley ball to use. Both bowlers performed well above their averages to help their team to lock up the lead. Julia West, aka Roberta...using a blue Angle off the alley ball rack, with the name ROB engraved above the fingers, rolled the tourney's high scratch game of 224 and fine series of 593 . Congrats to the winners and thank you for all the ladies that bowled. I enjoyed hosting the event again, had fun setting a few pins and picking on a few of you. Thanks to my pinboys Eric, Levi, Brandon, Dave and pingirl Chelsea. Sorekeeper Chris for keeping you ladies in line....or at least in your lineup. Thanks also to my wife and wine spritzer hostess, Melinda, and Miranda. Let's do it all again next year ! Thank you, Al.
