Check out how much better this front door looks!
The factory finish on these fiberglass doors doesn’t hold up well to UV damage, and with the “wood look” on a non-wooden door, you have to get creative to replicate it. Generally, a good combination of a solid base color paired with a gel stain will achieve the look we want.
Before getting started with the work, I spent some time creating samples with different colors to match the front door. Once the client approved the color, I started by sanding and cleaning the door very well, painted a solid color as the base, then the gel stain, before finally sealing it all in with a marine quality clear coat that has ultimate UV resistance.
This door looks brand new and is ready to withstand the elements for many years to come!
