Brenau University Galleries Brenau University Galleries serve as a visual arts resource for the educational and cultural enrichm

The Brenau University Galleries at the historic Gainesville, Georgia campus consist of four exhibition spaces and a permanent art collection. The Galleries serve as an educational and cultural resource for Northeast Georgia by way of free public programming and exhibitions. A growing docent program allows the Galleries to accommodate free tours of select exhibits and set hours of operation provide opportunities for community visitors throughout the week.

Come view Tina's inspiring exhibit, Be the Hollow Bone, hear about the dynamic journey between art and science, and share your thoughts to help advance Arts and Health research! Simply stop by the research enrollment table during the event to take a quick post-event survey with Dr. Barbara Steinhaus, Claudia Wilburn, and their team on how visual art impacts your personal growth and wellbeing.

Thank you to everyone who made last night’s opening of Howard Finster: 20/20 Vision so incredible!

Huge thanks to Davia Weatherill and Howard Pousner for an amazing panel discussion on Finster's legacy, Paradise Garden, and the World’s Folk Art Church.

An EXTRA big thank you goes out to our local community members who generously loaned pieces from their private collections to help make this exhibition complete. Seeing his legendary work—from album covers to hand-lettered scripture cutouts—all in one room was magic.

To the community who came out and the Finster fans who traveled to be here: we appreciate you!

We are thrilled to host Tina Mullen this Fall and to explore the ins and outs of her exhibit: "Be the Hollow Bone." Join us Thursday, September 3, from 5-7 pm for the opening reception, and again Thursday, October 1, from 5-7 pm for an educational panel featuring George Divoky. Join us at the botanical gardens on October 18th for yet another opportunity to engage with the artist and her sketchbook practice during our free community workshop: "a Field Guide to Joy." All of these events are free and open to the public. Registration for the free workshop is available on Eventbrite, but seats are limited, so reserve your spot soon!

The Northeast Georgia History Center and Brenau University want to see your work!

We are looking for original art from rising 6th–8th graders that give a fresh, modern spin on American symbols like the flag, the bald eagle, or the Statue of Liberty.

Mediums: All 2D and 3D styles welcome!
Submission Deadline: May 31, 2026
Exhibition Dates: June 20 – July 25, 2026
Cost: Free and open to the public!
