Past Our Prime is a Gainesville based indie-rock band composed of four long-time friends. The band writes genuine commentary on modern life and incorporates styles varying from airy pop-americana, to punk inspired indie rock, to groove heavy jams that reflect upon contemporary life. All coalesce into a unique listening experience, and an absolutely electric live show. Two singles and the group’s debut album, Through the Screen, are available on all streaming platforms to sample.
The band spent 2025 playing extensively and honing their live show into a fun, interactive experience. The group is currently finishing their second album, Harmony, which is slated to be released in early 2026. This collection of songs takes them further into sonic experimentation by exploring new combinations of sounds. The foundation of a rock quartet remains, but you may hear a clarinet providing accompaniment in a pop-punk power ballad, a trombone slide into an eclectic jam, or flamenco inspired hard-rock. The work is as fresh as it is artistic, and the group looks forward to sharing it with the world. In the meantime, catch a show for a taste of the new sounds the group is making!
