Look we get it, the look of a perfectly snug hoop is super cute. We already don't pierce with rings for most things, and then we make you wait until healed before considering swapping.

This is our PSA to not only wait until healed, but also make sure the hoop that's installed is sized appropriately. These photos are the aftermath of a hoop that was too tight for the conch. The piercing was almost a year old when it was swapped.

The ring was just a little too snug, but as it put more and more pressure on the ear, it started to dig in. Obviously this did not go well.

We got her all fixed up and swapped over to a flat back, and thankfully we didn't need to retire it.

Whether you are changing to a hoop in a studio or at home, double check sizing. If it feels too tight, it's not right!

This was a crazy fun project that she did right before she left.
Existing healed traditional industrial, and lobe piercings with a fresh vertical helix. Connected with this cool barbell to hoop to bar situation.

Plus peep the other ear for a peak at that custom triple industrial Leann pierced a couple years ago. It healed so beautifully!
