Last Sunday we were lead by intrepid ceramicist Jenn Hartz in making Nature Nook/trinket shelves, and had an absolute blast getting our hands dirty! We learned to roll out clay, slip and score, and how to coax the clay into shapes that will hold all our small treasures. We spent a happy three hours designing and creating two pieces each, which will be fired by Jenn and returned to us soon.

Keep an eye out for more GFAA workshops! Thank you and to everyone who showed up to make things and meet people. ♥️

SHOUTOUT TO OUR STUDIO TOUR SPONSORS! Thanks to our Art Partner sponsor, painter Alfred Phillips!

Educated at Louisville, Kentucky's Art Center School, with a full scholarship four-year studio degree, Phillips had a long, successful career in commercial art that included stints at ad agencies, then at his own graphics design firm. In 203 he closed the firm and took up acrylic painting full time when he relocated to Fort Lauderdale, earning multiple awards, and making sales on national and international levels. Phillips helped establish the Gainesville Fine Arts Association gallery and served on the board for over five years.

You can find Phillips' work at Studio 22 this weekend, as well as part of our Studio Tour Preview Exhibition.
