This piece comes from a photo I took out in Carson, New Mexico, just below Taos — one of my favorite places on earth to wander, breathe, and paint. There’s something about those wide‑open spaces and endless Southwestern skies that always stirs my heart and creativity.

Today I’m sharing Part One of my painting process for a special portrait of Lucky, a little dog who passed away this past year.
