I literally have been in a state of shock this morning. We not only threw a successful innagural event BUT WE RAISED SOME BIG TIME DOLLARS FOR MAKE A WISH!! Heads up, Not the happiest but an important post

I dont just throw shows for Make a Wish but I am a wish granter and that means I get to chat with Wish kids and find out their BIG WISHES and build community with the family!!

Well today, I am calling to set up one of those hang outs and I find out the kiddo I am to talk to is in ER and is fighting some really hard stuff. I was able to be there for Mom and remind her how much she's loved and cared for by a HUGE amount of friends she hasnt met yet and other Wish families. Its a heavy feeling and it really hits you in the gut. But thats the most imporant part of this volunteer position. Being present and showing love and care.

I just want yall to know that the big exciting stuff I've been posting about with the show is to honor the true WARRIOR status that these families and kids deserve and ARE!

Keep your love light up tonight. And next week we will celebrate the ones we have lost and the ones that we are blessed to still have.

Gainesville Get Up Make-A-Wish Fundraiser to Transform "Wish City" on March 9, 2024
GAINESVILLE, Ga. — February 19, 2024 — On March 9, 2024, Gainesville will be transformed into "Wish City" as the community comes together for the Gainesville Get Up Make-A-Wish Fundraiser. This funk-themed night of performers will feature Brock Butler from Perpetual Groove, The Gainesville Wishmakers, and Entropy from the Atlanta Funk scene. The event aims to grant wishes and raise funding for Make-A-Wish Georgia.

The fundraiser, held at Boot Barn Hall, promises to blend music and service for this community-oriented event, highlighting the needs of local and regional Wish recipients. With 13 wishes currently waiting in the Gainesville, GA area and 800 life-changing wishes awaiting statewide, the event aims to make dreams a reality for these children.

"In a true 'moment of mission' for our fundraiser, local youth Cody recently awoke in the hospital inquiring about the musical evening he had missed during his stay," said David Lawson Event Organizer "He was greeted with a video from the band Entropy sending him a personal message, reassuring him that March 9th is around the corner, and we can't wait to see Cody and his family there for the event."

Tickets are available for purchase, with seated tickets selling fast. Attendees are encouraged to secure their spots today to support this worthy cause.
