Today we’re sharing a memory and a mission: The Lost Brown Girls by Alexis Jeanna. Our sold out production back in 2019.
Every year thousands of children and young women go missing in the U.S., and Black, brown, and Indigenous young people are disproportionately affected yet too often ignored.
The FBI’s NCIC reports tens of thousands of active missing-person entries each year and recorded over half a million missing/unidentified person records in recent reporting. Advocacy groups show that roughly 40% of missing persons are people of color while Black people make up only about 13% of the U.S. population…a disparity that affects which cases get attention.
This is what The Lost Brown Girls is about: visibility, grief, and demanding action.
We’re coming back in 2026 with a brand new production. But until then, today we highlight the missing, and sadly the forgotten that is…The Lost Brown Girls.
