Park Meadows Care & Rehab Volunteering Recap 🎶💛

On March 1st, our hearts left even fuller than when we arrived as and UF Honor Chords gathered at Park Meadows in Gainesville for a beautiful morning of music, joy, and connection.

With guitars in hand, familiar sing-alongs, and heartfelt a ca****la performances, we shared music’s universal language with the incredible residents and staff who continue to inspire us with their strength and warmth. 🎸🎤✨

Each smile, each shared lyric, and each quiet moment of togetherness reminded us why we serve, because music has the power to heal, to comfort, and to unite. 🤍

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated, whether you performed, harmonized, supported from the sidelines, or simply showed up with an open heart. Your presence truly made an impact and helped create such a meaningful experience for all. 🌟

Join us at Park Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center as we use music to uplift, connect, and care for residents through the power of every note we play. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or simply love sharing joy through music. This is your moment to make a difference.

‼️ Who’s joining:
❤️ UF Music Meets Medicine: a community built on the belief that the arts are vital to holistic patient care. The organization promotes the healing power of music through artistic service, professional collaboration, and research-driven discussion. Open to all majors and no music experience required!
🩵 UF Honor Chords: a group of UF Honors students united by a love for singing. All Honors students are welcome, regardless of skill level or background. No auditions necessary!

Favorite memory: Honor Chords really does feel like a family. It’s a community that I feel a very deep connection with. In a way, the group has a personality of its own, and the people that I’ve met within it have been some of the most formative to my college experience. I don’t know if I’ll ever forget that.

Devin also continues this year to serve as Honor Chords’ President. To learn more about our group, swing by a rehearsal! Meetings are every Monday @ 7:30pm in the Hume Classroom.

Patrick is a senior Economics and Political Science Major, who currently serves as Honor Chords’ Music Director. Patrick has been passionate about music from a young age, having over a decade of piano and choir experience under his belt. Patrick has even performed at Carnegie Hall. Among other things, he currently also serves as the President of the Model United Nations club. He is also the reason Honor Chords has a ‘Pun Jar’. He is very excited to see old and new faces and to teach the group’s new music.

Our next few posts are for celebrating our recent & upcoming grads! Meetings are every Monday @ 7:30pm in the Hume Classroom.
