Greetings everyone! It's been a long time. We were thinking about forgoing this project, but that's not in the cards! We were so determined to walk away that we even shut down the website 🥺

Well, folks have asked, spirit has spoken, and the movement Mommas and Project legacy holders are saying move forward. Baby, when THE Linda Villarosa said she thought it was a good idea and we should follow through, the fire was reignited!

Leslie Posey and I have decided to make one more great leap of faith and reach out to the community again! Leslie even played around with a cover idea. We hope to bring this work to life by 2027, so we need your help!

We are asking Sistahs to submit a short poem (5,000 words or less) or an image of their original art reflecting their experience at the Project. You may send a video testimony, and we'll transcribe it.

All submissions should be sent to [email protected].

BTW, we can also schedule a Zoom meeting to interview you. (Right now, weekends work best).

I received an email stating that the new Telly winners for 2026 would be announced soon and inviting us to revisit last year's winners and their work.

This was such a proud moment for me! Telling Black stories and celebrating our lives is a top priority in my world, and having my work around that recognized was such a sweet moment!

I was so grateful when Lorenza L. Weaver L. DWMT Productions agreed to be my videographer for When the Music Was Cheap and Damn Near Free, and I was blown away by his foresight in entering the work in this competition.
