Still tons to optimize, but a key goal has been reached here:
the system can now fill multiple syringes with the same programmed recipe and get reasonably consistent results.
This clip shows those syringes being deposited by hand.
That repeatability is a big deal.

A big thank you to .wien for hosting me and at Maker's Night! It was great to meet so many amazing people and see lots of awesome projects. It was also a big relief to fix a problem that came up with the syringe filling machine 15 minutes before the event started 😆

Adventures in Upcycling part 3: getting there! After trying a lot of stuff that didn't work, I finally managed to turn waste PLA into something reasonable. Turns out PLA needs a little bit of pressure to flow properly. Think I should paint it or keep it for posterity?

I have a confession to make. I've been telling y'all all along that ERAS can reproduce anything you make with it. That was only true when using syringes that were filled with a single color of paint!

I discovered working with ERAS that we can achieve really nice effects when we load multiple paints into the same syringe. The problem was, doing this by hand meant I could never get the same result. With this syringe filling machine, we can now not only reproduce a piece, but also achieve patterns and symmetries that are a result of systematically loading paint into the syringes

Just got the coupling mechanism to work reliably. Next step? Actually loading paint!

Did you know that we can cut STEEL with a LASER? Turns out making a DIY mold wasn't too much work. Next week we see how well it works with injecting recycled plastic 🤠

Feeling GLÜCKLICH after getting trained to use the injection molding machine at .wien . Once I figure out how to make a mold, the plan is to use it to upcycle waste plastic/printer filament into substrate on which to paint with ERAS!
