Our next class is right around the corner! Come join us Saturday June 6th 9:30-11:30 AM at the Ritz Theatre! We are so excited to have Dr. Billy Jenkins as our June instructor! He will be teaching us how to properly use our voices in this musical master class! Remember, class is free and for ages 5-18!
Dr. Billy Jenkins, a resident of Rainbow City, Alabama holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo, a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University, an Education Specialist degree from Jacksonville State University in School Administration, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama. Dr. Jenkins is currently a Professor for Gadsden State Community College where he teachers Philosophy and Psychology and an adjunct professor for JSU in school leadership. He was a recipient of District VIII Teacher of the Year for the State of Alabama and top 4 in the Alabama State Teacher of the Year Program and was the elementary recipient for the Alabama Teacher Hall of Fame. He serves as the Co-Director for the Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen Pageant and also as a Field Director for the Miss Alabama/Miss America Scholarship Pageant. He began his acting debut in 1990 with A Chorus Line, and has since played lead roles in Shenandoah, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Jekyll and Hyde, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Big River, Ring of Fire, and the Fantastiks, to name a few. In addition to performing in theater shows, he also loves to music direct theatrical productions and play the piano for performances. He has served as the producer for many USO shows throughout the Southeast. He has also served as vocal coach and acting coach and is a motivational speaker for educational foundations. In his spare time, he enjoys spending lots of time with his 10-year-old, Drake.
