Hey CoMo string musician friends. Just a note that it is expected to get wicked cold over the next several days (Friday through Wednesday in particular), which means that the humidity in a heated space (home, studio, etc) will becove VERY low unless something is done to humidfy the air. Now is a good time to make sure your instruments are protected so they don't split or crack with the dryness. Even just having a pot of water simmering on the stove will help. Violet Vonder Haar Ruth Acuff Linda Bott Byron Neighbors, Olyssa Mesh Herico, William Philip Consignado Herico, Teri Quinn, The Burney Sisters, Jim Little, Nancy Dietz, Sara Wolf, Bradd Anderson, Debbie Carney Karwoski, Otter Bowman Drummers, too, maybe? Phylshawn? (Not sure why some names didn't give links.)

TERI QUINN HOUSE CONCERT POSTPONED

Unfortunately due to weather we need to cancel today's house concert with Teri Quinn and Landon Hambright. We'll try to reschedule for September/October. Sorry for the late notice!

07/26/2021

Hey folks, here's a reminder of our house concert with Teri Quinn with Landon Hambright this Saturday. The weather looks like it should cooperate with just a slight chance of scattered thundershowers and enough clouds to keep it cooler. This should be a really lovely Saturday afternoon!

Here's a couple videos so you can get a feel for the music, one of Teri solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-EAIdnWrfA and a little snippet of the two of them rehearsing this past weekend. It's going to be so sweet!

The doors open at 2 PM and the music will start at 3. This will be an outdoor concert in our spacious backyard (restrooms and water are available inside the house). Please bring your own drinks and snacks and a chair or blanket to sit on. It will be sunny, so bring sunscreen or something to shade you (popup tents work great). Hosts and performers are fully vaccinated. We ask that if you are not fully vaccinated that you wear a mask when moving around and interacting with others. The concert is at our home in Millersburg (halfway between Columbia and Fulton) at 4500 County Rd. 351, Fulton MO 65251.

There is no admission charge, but we ask that you contribute generously in the tips jar ($10+/adult) -- it has been a very hard year for performers! All tips go to the performers. Bring your own beverages and snacks (there is water and restrooms available in the house) and a chair or blanket to sit on (we have some extra chairs, so don't let that keep you home!).

If you are planning to attend this concert, or if you just want to be notified of future concerts, please fill out the form at https://forms.gle/1DjXJ5vwv5LmNAZLA so we have your email address in case we have to notify you of cancellation/postponement. Future concert notification is on an opt-in basis; don't worry, I won't spam you!

Next up, on Saturday July 31, Teri Quinn is returning from Kansas City, this time accompanied by their musical partner Landon Hambright. Teri is a talented artist and a lovely person. We are really honored to have them back. We hope you can join us!

Kansas City songwriter, Teri Quinn, writes songs that harmonize sweet with savory, entwine lace with barbed-wire, and romance old-fashioned charm with modern grit. Quinn’s clawhammer banjo hums and hollers, and their lyrics are both celestial and cerebral. Their enchanting voice and lyricism is a timeless elevation of the wild and fearless.

“Listening to Teri Quinn’s music is a direct portal to journeys of inner longing and wild desire, however dark, however deep. It will bring you face-to-face with the places where your shadow lives, places often unseen beneath the surface. Their music is hauntingly soulful, as their voice croons above the driving dark rhythms of her banjo. Teri’s music is their truth telling which beckons forth authenticity in each of us.” -Laurel and Ben Parks of indie folk band Of Tree

Hey friends! The world is starting to open back up, and so are we. We will be trying at least a couple concerts this summer, with a few changes:
1) Concerts will be outside only, so rain-outs are a possibility -- we will try to schedule a make-up if possible. You can still use the restrooms as needed, but otherwise we'll all be outside.
2) No communal snacks -- bring your own.
3) We ask that everyone wear masks when moving around or interacting with folks not in your household. Household groups should maintain social distancing when setting up to watch and listen.
4) We (the hosts, Art and Amanda) are fully vaccinated, and the performers will be fully vaccinated. We can't and won't require your vaccination status, but urge everyone to be respectful and aware that not everyone in attendance may be vaccinated.
5) Because numbers may be smaller and because it has been so hard for our artists this past year, we are asking folks to contribute $10/adult or more in the tips jar for the artists. This past year has taught us how much of a privilege live music is, and we need to reward our performers!

Stay tuned for dates and other announcements!

COVID-19 STATUS

Dear friends,

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic and out of a concern for the health and welfare of our artists and audience, all performances are currently cancelled/postponed. We hope we may be able to reschedule some of these for later this year if the situation improves, or to re-book them for next year, but we will continue make everyone's safety our top priority.

In the meantime, we hope you will all continue to support your local musicians on-line. Many of them are offering solo concerts on Facebook, Instagram and other platforms. We encourage you to enjoy these and to tip the musicians generously. These are difficult times for gigging musicians!

Until we can welcome you in person, stay happy, healthy and safe!
