Hey 4th Grade Morgan Elementary Parents!

We’re excited to kick off our 4th Grade Penny War!

Each 4th grade class will be competing to collect the most pennies, and the class with the highest total will win a DONUT PARTY!

This contest will be running from April 20 – May 20

All pennies raised will go directly toward launching our first annual 5th Grade Art Car Project. I am hoping to make this an ongoing tradition, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, where our 5th graders will have the opportunity to help design and create a real art car!

This is such a fun way for students to work together, build excitement, and support a creative experience they’ll get to be part of next year.

Start saving those pennies and sending them in!! Let the friendly competition begin!

Are you looking for something super fun and unique to do with your kiddos?! The Houston Art Car Parade is this weekend!

This is especially fun for our students because in just a few weeks, we will welcome a very special guest author, Cathey Nickell, to our school! She has written two children’s books about art cars, and she will be coming to speak with our students about her books and the colorful, creative world of art cars.

Even more exciting, she will be bringing 4 real art cars for our kiddos to see up close and touch!

This is such a great way to build excitement for this unique art form and help our students make connections between books, creativity, and real-world art experiences.

I had so much fun with my sidekick Emory today. She made the best art teacher and lead our big art day project today like a champ and managed to lose a tooth while she was at it! Way to go Emory! Today was the best ❤️
