Salisbury Dance Academy Company We are a performance & competition troupe from the Salisbury Dance Academy located in Fruitland, MD.

Our focus is to give our dancers opportunities to expand their knowledge base & skill set while cultivating their love & appreciation for dance.

SDAC’s second day of competition was amazing! Sunday rounded out the weekend with classes, scholarships and the opportunity to perform in Revel’s closing show. We are so proud of all our dancers and so grateful for the support of our friend and family! Now on to the highlights!

Our main competition season has come to a close with a small but mighty group of our dancers at On Point and they were on fire!!

And here are the results (drum roll please):

Katie E: High Gold for her lyrical solo, and 1st overall in petite solos.

Lydia G: for her solo Underestimated: Platinum, “Sensational Strength” Judge’s award, 2nd overall in teen solos. For her solo “Purple Rain”: Platinum, and Miss Teen On Point! Lydia also received the On Point Teen photogenic award.

Lexi L: for her solo “Nobody Knows”: High Gold

Eva W: for her solo received an “Amazing Acrobatics” Judges Award, High Gold, and 4th overall in Junior solos.

Katie E and Mira M: for their hip hop duo received a “Sensational Swagger” Judges Award, High Gold, and 1st overall petite duo/trio.

Nadeen H: for her solo “Wicked Games” received a Platinum, and 6th place overall in Senior solos (tied with Emilia M). For her “Dracula” solo received a Platinum and Miss Senior On Point!

Emilia M: for her solo “That’s Life received a “Sinatra Super Star” Judges Award, Platinum, 1st in Category (Jazz), 6th place overall for Senior solos (tied with Nadeen H).

Callie M: for her solo “In a Crown” recieved a “Fierce Focus” Judges Award and High Gold. Callie also received the Senior On Point photogenic award.

Emilia M and Callie M: for their contemporary duo received a High Gold.

Lydia G and Nadeen H: for their contemporary duo received a Platinum, 1st in Category (contemporary duo/trio), and 4th overall in Senior duo/trios.

Congratulations to all of our dancers on an amazing season! And thank you to our parents, teachers, and choreographers without whom none of this would be possible!

And that completes our weekend at Revel! We are so proud of our dancers and the hardwork they have put into these routines. Every dance convention is an opportunity for them to grow as artists and individuals and it’s amazing to see just how far they’ve come this season. In just the last few weeks, our dancers traveled to compete at NYCDA in Baltimore, MD and ASH in Reston, VA. We have been so super proud of our soloists, our duos, our trios and our group routines! The growth they have all shown everytime they step out on that stage is amazing! But with close to 40 pieces between the two comps, we decided to just do a few highlights of those weekends:

NYCDA 1/31-2/2

“Hardknock Life” (mini small group musical theater): Gold, 1st in category, nominated for a Judge’s Choice Award

“Queen” (teen extended specialty production): High Gold, 3rd in category

106 & Park (large group teen hip hop): High Gold, 3rd in category

SDA also won the “Class Act” studio award!

ASH 2/14-2/16

“Chicken Noodle Soup” (mini hip hop duo): Katie E. & Mira M. won a special judge’s award for their “Vibin” routine.

“Dracula” (Senior soloist): Nadeen H. won a choreography award for her routine

Katie E (mini): received a National’s scholarship for this summer
