San Juan County Parks & Fair Department The San Juan County Parks & Fair Department protects and promotes county recreational opportunities. Host of the County Fair and a wide range of special events.

Visitors also enjoy in the department’s day parks, campgrounds, and water access points. The purpose of this site is to present matters of public interest in San Juan County to its many residents, businesses, and visitors. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a limited public forum and will be monitored by County staff on a regular, though not

24/7 basis. The comments and opinions expressed by the public on this site are theirs alone and do not reflect the opinions of San Juan County or its employees. An individual may be blocked from an Official County Social Media Account if he/she/they continually violate this policy after repeated warnings. As such, under the San Juan County Social Media Policy, the County reserves the right to remove inappropriate content including but not limited to those that:

Hey all! If you'll be visiting the Fairgrounds on Monday, 6/1, or Tuesday, 6/2, follow our posted detour signs to avoid a sticky situation! Entry will be through our South Gate located on Dougherty Lane, and parking will be available in the field across from the Family Playground & Skate Park. 🚧

CALL FOR TOYS! The Zucchini 500 invites you to donate your gently used small toys to the department to be used as prizes for the Zucchini 500 races at Fair. Donations can be brought to the Parks & Fair Office located at the Fairgrounds (849 Argyle Ave) anytime during office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm).

The County Council is looking for community‑minded volunteers to fill open seats on the Parks & Recreation Commission. If you care about the future of our county parks, this is a great way to get involved.
📍 Current Openings:
• Lopez Island #6
• Orcas Island #3
• Opening in June: Orcas Island #4, Shaw Island #7
🗓 The Commission meets virtually four times a year, and each term lasts three years.
