The last two performances of the award-winning family drama, SOMEBODY'S CHILDREN by Jose Casas, play today at Fresno Soap Co Stage, 1470 N. Van Ness Ave. just South of Fresno City College. The Shine! Theatre production is directed by Artistic Director Tony Sanders. A cast of five extraordinary young actors from Roosevelt School of the Arts and McLane High School have been getting standing ovations from audiences during the opening weekend and at from last night's capacity crowd. These teenagers tell a heartbreaking story of the homeless families living in the shadow of the Happiest Place on Earth, behind Disneyland in Anaheim, California, where its a daily struggle with drugs, prostitution, gang violence and the shame of being poor and homeless. Their stories are told, but their dreams persist, and HOPE reigns in their hearts that someday they can have peace and happiness again with their families. City officials have done nothing over the years to help the plight of these unfortunate families. Your ticket purchase will help feed these families and provide you with a theater experience you will not soon forget. Advance tickets are available from brownpapertickets.com or at the theater box office for today's matinee at 2pm and the final performance at 7pm. Don't miss this memorable drama from Shine! Theatre, who in 2010 were cited as America's finest youth theater by the U.S. Congress, and Shine! Theatre's home is right here in Fresno. CURTAIN 5 TheatreGROUP is honored to sponsor this event which was also underwritten by a genrrous grant from the Bonner Family Foundation.
