Happy Le***an Visibility Day! 🧡🤍🩷

April 26th is Le***an Visibility Day and is a chance to pause and think about what visibility actually means. It’s the author whose book made you feel understood. The neighbor who lives openly and unapologetically. The kid watching their first TV show with a character who looks like them. Visibility is quiet and loud, personal and political — and all of it matters.

This day is also a reminder of the work that came before us. Le***an activists, artists, writers, and organizers have fought hard for the rights and freedoms many of us now hold. We stand on the shoulders of those who were visible when it was even more dangerous to be, and we carry that legacy forward with pride, gratitude, and resolve to be courageous for the next generation.

To every le***an who is proudly out, quietly navigating their path, or still figuring things out: you are seen, you belong, and your story matters.

If you have a friend, a family member, or maybe just an acquaintance you feel comfortable enough to talk to who is a le***an — consider acknowledging that you see them on this special day. You never know the power of a kind word or an acknowledgment of recognition ❤️

Happy Le***an Visibility Day — now and every day 🧡🤍🩷

Today is International Trans Day of Visibility — a day to celebrate the joy, resilience, and beauty of trans and non-binary people around the world. 🏳️‍⚧️ Visibility matters. It saves lives, builds community, and reminds every trans person that they are seen, they belong, and the world is richer because they are in it.

Visibility is also more than just being seen — it’s about being honored, respected, and embraced for who you are. We uplift the voices, stories, and contributions of trans individuals who continue to shape our communities with courage and authenticity.

At the same time, we recognize that visibility must be matched with action. Today and every day, we stand in solidarity, committing to protect, support, and advocate for trans lives — especially those most marginalized. Let’s continue building a world where everyone can live openly, safely, and proudly as themselves.

The holidays remind us that family isn’t only defined by blood — it’s also built through love, trust, and the people who show up for us when we need them most. Our chosen family holds space for our full selves, celebrates our joy, and walks beside us through every season of life. This time of year invites us to pause, gather close, and honor those connections that make us feel seen, safe, and loved.

As we share meals, laughter, memories, and quiet moments together, may we also extend that same warmth outward. A kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply listening with an open heart can make all the difference. Love grows when it’s shared, and kindness has a way of rippling far beyond what we can see.

This holiday season, let’s lead with compassion — for our chosen family, our communities, and ourselves. In a world that can feel heavy, choosing love is a powerful act. May our homes, our hearts, and our actions be filled with generosity, care, and the reminder that none of us are truly alone.

From all of us at Fresno Reel Pride, Happy Holidays ❤️

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support Fresno Reel Pride — one of the longest-running LGBTQ+ film festivals in the country and a space where q***r stories, creators, and communities can come together and shine. Every year, your generosity helps us uplift voices that deserve to be seen and heard, and to bring films to Fresno that spark joy, reflection, connection, and pride.

With your support, we can continue building a festival that celebrates authenticity, strengthens community, and ensures LGBTQ+ filmmakers have a platform in the Central Valley. Whether you’re able to give a little or a lot, your contribution helps us keep q***r cinema thriving. Thank you for standing with us, for showing up, and for helping us foster visibility, acceptance, and community. YOU make a difference ❤️

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender Day of Remembrance 🏳️‍⚧️

Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th asks us to pause and honor the trans individuals whose lives were taken by anti-trans violence. It is a day of reflection, mourning, and deep respect — an acknowledgment of the harm so many have faced simply for living as their true selves. Their memories call us to confront injustice with clarity and compassion.

In holding this remembrance, we also reaffirm our commitment to protecting and uplifting the trans community. Let this day inspire us to advocate for safety, dignity, and equity, not just in words but in action. As we remember those we’ve lost, we carry their light forward by working toward a world where every trans person can live freely, authentically, and without fear.

For the trans people in your own life, acknowledge them today, and let them know that they matter. Repost this reel or others that acknowledge trans people’s existence and their struggle. It is through visibility and humanity that we move the needle toward making this world a bit more just and a whole lot more kind. ❤️

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender Awareness Week 🏳️‍⚧️

Transgender Awareness Week (Nov 13–19) is a time to uplift, honor, and listen to the voices of trans people everywhere. It’s a reminder that trans people have always been part of our communities — bringing creativity, strength, joy, and authenticity to the world. This week invites all of us to deepen our understanding, challenge misconceptions, and recognize the humanity and beauty of trans lives.

By celebrating Transgender Awareness Week, we help create a culture where trans people are seen, respected, and supported. Visibility is powerful, but acceptance and action are even more so. Let’s use this week to learn, to stand alongside our trans community members, and to foster a world where everyone can live openly and safely as their true selves.

If you have someone in your life that is trans — maybe even just an acquaintance — consider sharing this with them or acknowledge them in another way to let them know that you see them, that you stand with them, and that they matter. The road that led them to where they are today was likely already a difficult one, and the current climate of hostility has only made it more difficult. You never know the impact that an act of kindness may have for someone else. ❤️

On November 10, 2025, the Supreme Court of the United States reaffirmed that it will not revisit or overturn the landmark ruling Obergefell v. Hodges (2015), thereby upholding the constitutional guarantee that same-sex couples have the right to marry nationwide. For LGBTQ+ people, this decision is a powerful affirmation: it means that love and commitment between two consenting adults—regardless of gender—can continue to be formally and legally recognized, celebrated, and protected under the law. With marriage equality secure, couples can build their lives together, raise families, and plan their futures with the same dignity and rights as others, confident that their union will be honored by both society and the state. Today is a good day, but we must keep fighting.

More about the Fresno AIDS Walk

The Fresno AIDS Walk is an HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event that pays homage to those affected by the virus and remembrance for those that we have lost. All community members are welcome to participate.

Proceeds from the Fresno AIDS Walk will benefit Fresno’s longest-running HIV/AIDS social support center: The Living Room, a project of WestCare California.
________

Hi, it’s Olivia. I just wanted to share a personal note … a family member of mine was a tragic victim of the AIDS crisis. Of all the tragedies embodied in a life cut short, of dreams left unfulfilled, of loved ones left behind — one tragedy has left me most haunted by his passing. The fear and stigma of being gay, of having AIDS, meant that he died without all of his family surrounding him with the love and support that everyone deserves. The truth is, many of us found out that he passed without even knowing his ‘secret’ or the cause of his death. I mention this as proof that today we stand more tolerant, more compassionate, and more filled with humanity and love than ever before. But it’s also a call to action to keep at it, to be bold in uplifting and supporting one another. This is a job for us all … gay or straight, q***r or ally, we all can do our part to show more love and kindness to make this a better world for us all ❤️
