I wrote this poem to summarize the emotions associated with Artful Feathers. Whether purchased for yourself, or to give as a gift, the underlying meaning will differ depending on the sentiment behind it. Who do you know that could use a Feather?

The purpose of a feather

What more can a mere feather be
Than a birds sole source of levity?

Perhaps a gift of nature's art
To keep in sight and lift the heart?

A source of strength and hope and joy
That fluttered down for your employ?

A heartfelt message from above
Of someone's pure undying love?

A broken feather on the mend
To ease the pain of one's lost friend?

Bound emotions, now set adrift
Flying free to become a precious gift?

While true, a feather is merely that
Receiving one is the caveat.

Accept this gift, for what it is
And question not, why the giver gives.
