It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted (it’s been a weird year for everyone!!), but… we have kittens!! For the moment, anyway. We’ve been trying to trap a neighborhood Momma Cat and Tom Cat for a long while now to get them fixed ✂️ - and have finally had success on that front. This is their last litter! We rescued them and are fostering them while looking for forever homes for them- six cats is our hard limit!

They’re named after breakfast foods because they’re little snacks. Please meet Doughnuts, Waffles, Bacon McMuffin, Coffee, and Cinnamon Bun. Click on the pics to learn about each, and if you know someone who needs a new baby or two, let us know! All are scheduled for spay/neuter and first shots within the next two weeks.

Four years ago, UCDavis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital saved our baby’s life with surgery to close his extrahepatic shunt. We are so thankful for Dr. Ingrid Balsa and her team. Today, four years later, he’s happy and thriving and we love him so much!

This is Gryffin when he first came home back in March. Curious, adventurous and very loving. A few hours later and we were at the emergency vet...we didn't know that this funny and endearing little fur ball was so sick and would take us on a ride!

To manage him without surgery means giving him medications 3 times per day along with a special diet. The medications have side effects that are...not very savory. Thank you to our wonderful sitter Brionna for helping us keep Gryffin healthy enough to make it to this day.

Today, Dr Ingrid Balsa will perform surgery on Gryffin and attempt to fix his portosystemic shunt. This is a very risky procedure but it is his only chance for a normal life. The next 2-3 days will be critical. We are hoping to bring him home Tuesday.
