We are a budding theatre group with a vision for equality, diversity, reality, and rebellion. Like it or not, we are all different. And this makes us stronger.

We are a theatre group striving to better represent marginalized artists on the stage. Our mission prioritizes values that inspire ideas that push for a more accepting world. By bringing artists together to tell honest stories in unconventional ways, we're eager to forge change. In casting, so many actors are pushed aside and artistically silenced for factors that stand irrelevant against their ta

lents. BAD Musical Theatre is here to show that colors, sizes, genders, beliefs, and abilities should never stand in the way of our desires as artists: to tell a story and to make an impact. We hope to transcend traditional theatrical imagery and innovate to spark progress. We hope that our audiences will embrace this concept with us, spread the love, and accept the idea that diversity should be the new and improved norm of the performing arts. BAD is prepared to break the rules and challenge the way you see musical theatre.

A big, beautiful, bloody THANK YOU!!

Last weekend, we closed our first full staged production, American Psycho, with a 🔥 FULLY SOLD OUT RUN! 🔥

We couldn’t be more grateful for the community that showed up to support us on our first endeavor of this scale, and you best believe we’ll be back before you know it.

And to our mind-blowingly talented cast and crew, you have our hearts and endless love for everything you brought to this show. Gratitude isn’t a strong enough word for the admiration and adoration we carry for you all.

We’ll see you soon, BADasses. Don’t worry, you definitely haven’t seen the last of us 🔥❤️‍🩹

We’re honored to share that our production of American Psycho has received recognition from for our efforts towards accessibility in theatre! The Open Doors Achievement celebrates local companies that strive to provide a higher level of accessibility to their cast, crew, and patrons.

How are we making theatre more accessible for artists and audiences?
-ASL interpreted performance 7/13 7pm
-Masking required performance 7/19 7pm
-Performance venue easily accessible by public transit (less than 5 minute walk)
-Provided complimentary tickets to all who auditioned for the show
-All gender restroom facilities at our performance venue
-Always open and timely communication between cast and staff
-Carpool to rehearsal options made available to cast

We are always looking for ways to improve the way we meet our community’s needs, so please reach out to us if you have a need that struggles to be met or any ideas of how to better meet the needs of others!

Join B.A.D. Musical Theatre and loads of other artists this Saturday 6/8 5-11pm at SubZERO in the San Jose SoFA District! “Focused on emerging and present subcultures thriving in our region, SubZERO is a DIY, artistically bent, hi/lo-techno mashup where street meets geek.”
