🎨 IAA Summer Art Programs – Week 7 Highlights! 🌟
Another incredible week of creativity at Ichen Art Academy! Our students continued to amaze us with their imagination, dedication, and artistic growth across a wide variety of summer programs.
This week's featured workshops and camps included:
🎨 Watercolor Painting – Beautiful landscapes, architecture, and expressive watercolor techniques.
👗 Fashion Design – Students explored fashion illustration and developed their own original clothing concepts.
💻 3D Modeling with Blender – Young artists brought their ideas to life by learning professional 3D modeling and design skills.
🖌️ AP Art Boot Camp & Open Studio – High school students created original portfolio-quality artwork while preparing for AP Art and college admissions.
🎮 Digital Art & Animation Camps – Students developed digital illustration, character design, and animation skills using industry-standard tools.
🌈 Creative Art Camps (Ages 5–9) – Our youngest artists explored drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, and mixed media while building creativity and confidence.
And that's just a glimpse of everything happening this week! Across all of our classrooms, students challenged themselves, discovered new techniques, and produced artwork they can truly be proud of.

Pen & Ink: Expressive Portraiture ✒️🖤
What can students accomplish in just 15 hours?
These incredible portraits are the answer.
In our Pen & Ink – Expressive Portraiture Workshop, students explored how to capture not only facial features, but also personality, emotion, and character using expressive line work, cross-hatching, and bold value contrasts.
From exaggerated caricatures to dramatic portraits, students learned to simplify complex forms, build convincing light and shadow, and create artwork full of energy and expression.
Even more impressive—some of these artists are only 10 years old! Their focus, observation skills, and artistic growth over the course of just one week were truly inspiring.
At Ichen Art Academy, we believe that with the right instruction, encouragement, and plenty of practice, young artists can achieve results that often surprise even themselves.

🎨 Amazing Results in Just One Week! ✨

Can a complete beginner create artwork like this in just 15 hours?

The answer is YES!

In our Watercolor Landscapes & Architecture Workshop, students—many experiencing watercolor for the very first time—learned to paint expressive cityscapes filled with atmosphere, light, perspective, and architectural detail.

This workshop was personally taught by Ichen Wu, Founder of Ichen Art Academy, who guided students through every step of the painting process—from composition and perspective to watercolor techniques, color harmony, lighting, and creating depth.

The results speak for themselves. In just one week, students produced beautiful, portfolio-worthy paintings while building confidence and a strong foundation in watercolor.

🎨 IAA Summer 2026 – Week 4 Highlights (June 22–26) 🌞
Another incredible week at Ichen Art Academy! Our classrooms were filled with creativity, enthusiasm, and inspiring artwork as students of all ages challenged themselves and developed new artistic skills.
This week, students created outstanding work across a wide variety of programs, including:

In just one week, students explored new techniques, strengthened their artistic foundations, and produced artwork they can truly be proud of. From beautiful watercolor landscapes and expressive oil paintings to vibrant marker illustrations, imaginative digital creations, and colorful projects from our youngest artists, every classroom showcased the creativity and dedication of our students.
At IAA, we believe the best way to learn art is by creating art. Our experienced instructors guide each student individually, helping beginners build confidence while challenging advanced students to reach new levels.

🐦🌸 From Blank Canvas to Beautiful Oil Paintings in Just One Week! 🎨

Our students recently completed IAA’s Oil Painting Pets & Animals Workshop and achieved something remarkable — two finished oil paintings in only 15 hours!

Under the guidance of IAA Founder Ichen Wu, students learned professional oil painting techniques including:

✨ Color mixing and layering
✨ Painting realistic fur, feathers, and flower petals
✨ Creating depth, lighting, and texture
✨ Building strong composition and observation skills
The workshop featured both animal and floral subjects, giving students the opportunity to explore different painting styles while strengthening their technical foundation.
