This year is the 50th Anniversary of our Pettengill Farm Day. For half a century, we have been welcoming people to this special farm to take a step back in time and experience rural agrarian life in Maine.

Because of this special milestone, we are making the event free this year. We are looking for 50 people, willing to donate $50 so that we can make this a reality. Will you help make Pettengill Farm Day free for everyone?

It is that time of year again! The first weekend in October is Pettengill Farm Weekend. We have two days of fantastic events:

On Saturday, Oct. 3, join us from 4-6 PM at the farm for an evening of local brews, food, and bluegrass music. We're particularly excited to welcome Erica Brown & The Bluegrass Connection . We'll also have food from Main Street Baking Co., and Flavia's Desserts, with b**r from Maine B**r Company. Tickets are $25 and include the concert and b**r. Food can be purchased separately.

Sunday, Oct. 4, is our 50th annual Pettengill Farm Day. This is a long beloved event that offers a picture into Maine's rural agrarian lifestyle. Come check out activities, games, crafts, and even a horse drawn wagon ride! Tickets this year are free, so just come to the farm between 10 am - 2 pm.

FHS will be closed September 16-18 while staff is attending the annual conference of the American Association for State and Local History. We look forward to seeing you when we return and sharing what we've learned!
