Good news--Auditions for a fun mystery "dessert theater" with FP. "Seance" by Eileen Moushey. Sunday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 28-- 6 pm at FHS Music Room, 30 Holbrook St, Freeport. Use back door. Director: Linda Duarte.
Characters to be cast:
Madame Zodiak—older woman, world-famous astrologer
Ta**us—her much-younger husband
Gemini—mousy, incompetent secretary/assistant
Dr. Leo Turnbull—scientist, upset at astrology hokum
Horace Cope, security guard—investigates the poisoning
Host/Hostess-- manages seating, etc.

Madame Zodiak, world famous astrologer, is available to entertain when the mystery acting troupe fails to show up. Accompanying her are her much-younger new husband, Ta**us, and her mousy, incompetent secretary/companion, Gemini. When she begins, she is interrupted by a heckler, Dr. Leo Turnbull, who is enraged that she is allowed to speak. He is a true scientist and is furious that she is allowed to spread her astrology hokum. Then Madame is poisoned. It will be up to Security Guard Horace Cope to lead the investigation and find out not only WHO murdered Madame, but HOW they did it in plain view of everyone. Audience will help find clues and solve the mystery.

With great regret, we announce that we have canceled "Once Upon a Mattress." Issues beyond our control made this necessary, and we are very disappointed about it. Thank all of you for your support, and stay tuned for future shows.

Casting will be announced soon. We are still seeking a sound tech and a choreographer. Also, more ensemble folks, knights and ladies, would be great; we're accepting those until June 26.

We need more people to audition, Tuesday, June 16, 5:30 pm, Freeport HS, back door. Please come between 5:30 and 6 and expect to sing and then have groups reading from sides. AUDITIONS! "Once Upon a Mattress" Director: Mitch Thomas. Assistant Director: Linda Duarte. Sunday, June 14—2-6 pm and Tuesday, June 16—5:30-8 pm Auditions at Freeport High School Music Room (use back entrance) Please come early! Auditions are in groups. We also seek backstage help with costumes, sound, sets, props. Come to auditions to introduce yourself.
Director Mitch Thomas will accompany you on piano for music auditions. Please bring sheet music for a song you will audition (not necessarily from the show, but good if so). Recorded backup music also ok. Auditions will also include sides from the script. Parts and ensemble roles are for ages 16 and up. ENSEMBLE: Singing and dancing ensemble consisting of Ladies-in-Waiting, Knights, Soldiers, Servants and Musicians.
Rehearsals begin in late June, through July and early August, mostly Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Performances will be August 7-9 and Aug 14-16.
