Fiddlers Three – Melissa Bragdon Caron, Ellen Carlson and Kathy Zimpfer Sommer – and their top notch band will ‘WOW’ you in this concert to celebrate their latest recording project. This performance is not just for fiddlers. These gals are inspired by the horns of Chuck Berry, the swing of Bob Wills, sultry violin, country twang, the energy of a contradance, and the hard driving sound of bluegrass. Fiddlers Three has something for everyone! This is their first time at the festival. They will play the Mallard Stage at 11:45am-1pm on Saturday, June 27. We've once again partnered with Fiore Olive Oils and Vinegars to create a SIGNATURE MIGNONETTE RECIPE just for The Maine Oyster Festival. Our 2026 recipe was developed by FIORE's owner and huge oyster fan, Ryan Kelly, and will be available at all shucking locations.

🍷🦪2026 The Maine Oyster Festival Signature Mignonette 🦪🍷
½ cup FIORE Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars Pink Balsamic
½ cup flambéed La Vieille Ferme Rosé*
¾ cup minced shallots
Ground black pepper to taste

Flambé the rosé wine in a small saucepan. If fire in the kitchen isn’t your thing bring it to a simmer for 15 minutes. Combine the ingredients in a small bowl. Chill for at least 2 hours and serve over your favorite oyster.

*La Vieille Ferme Rosé is available from Bow Street Market in Freeport as well as both locations of Bow Street Beverage (Portland & Wells)

This recipe is also provided in the printed Festival brochures and all current, past and future Festival recipes have a new home right on the Festival website: https://www.visitfreeport.com/themaineoysterfestival/recipes/

Be sure to stop by the FIORE booth at the festival to pick up the key ingredient or visit their store at 88 Main St for even more tastings.

It's not Norumbega's first time on the menu but it is their first time shucking & serving in person at the Festival! Farmed on the Damariscotta River since the early 2000s, the goal at Norumbega Oyster, Inc. has been simple: to produce the highest quality product possible out of the Damariscotta River. This river, located in Midcoast Maine is famous for producing refreshingly briny oysters that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
