Just had to paint, even if I had to start this one at school. The girls were very supportive! Painted from a photo taken by boat ramp at Spooks Hill Road, one of our favorite spots Went there last week with Sam before he went back to WVa. Very cold, very peaceful and very quiet. Very wintery

Daufuskie Island, SC Oil on canvas, 18 x 24

Is it finished? Hard to say… I started this to work along with my Advanced Studio Oil class- it keeps me engaged with them and the challenges they face as they create their first landscape oil paintings. I love how we all support each other in class, artist to artist, it just feels right and it makes me grateful.

Absolute Last Hydrangeas 5 x 8 oil on paper.

The contrast of the lavender blues and warm golden browns made an unexpected combination that needed to be expressed I guess. Working on simplicity with new techniques and colors

Small oil on board based on some plein air watercolor studies from last week. Middletown Road on one of the many corn harvesting days- grateful they didn’t mind me being there!

Focused on shapes and loose brushwork. Learning to translate studies done in plein air to works in the studio. Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement! My fav quote: “if you pick up a brush and do something its a win for the day!”
