Gallery of Dance is a family-owned and operated dance school in New Jersey. Founder Gail Cargiulo grew up taking dance classes and, after the birth of her four children, decided to
pursue her passion, getting her start by teaching classes at the YMCA and The Dance Workshop in Freehold. Gail found the work so fulfilling that she was inspired to open up her own dance school in New Jersey. Her focus
was providing solid dance training and a supportive environment where girls could learn life
skills, develop leadership skills, and build friendships. After its opening, the dance school’s reputation spread quickly, and within just two years, she had more than
doubled her students. The Dazzlers have gone on to win awards for Best Choreography, Highest Scoring Routine, Entertainment Awards, and more, and have performed at prestigious events, such as Disney World’s
Christmas Day Parade (which was broadcast nationally on ABC), at Nets basketball games, Rutgers games, and on stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Gail’s daughters Karen Dolan and Dawn Cargiulo Berman both went on to pursue dance in their college
education and have since returned to help run the dance school. Karen has worked at Gallery of Dance since 1992 and has been Co-Director for the past decade, and Dawn recently joined the team as co-Artistic Director. Today, Gallery of Dance is in its 28th year, and it continues to have a reputation as a premier dance school
in New Jersey with students driving as far as an hour away just to study here. Gallery students have
gone on to appear in Broadway Productions, including Catch Me If You Can, Rocky, and So You Think You
Can Dance, and with the prestigious MOMIX Dance Company.
