Yesterday the wood fired kiln at Scott Creek was unloaded. This sweet bear and two of his friends will be at my opening reception TOMORROW, April 19th at 5 p.m. at the Octagon Patterson Library Octagon Gallery. Raku and wood fired animals, fairy houses, plates and platters and lots more...even a kiln.... will be on hand to view! I hope to see you there!

The coast of Maine is beautiful. We sailed on the sleek Schooner Ladona. Seagulls soared as the winds carried them over the water. I recently learned that by standing on one leg, they reduce by half the amount of heat lost through unfeathered limbs. Gray/black back feathers are typical and reflected in this raku fired seagull. You can see her at the Roger Tory Peterson Holiday Show on December 4th in Jamestown.
