Today we are going way back to 1907 and taking a close look at a 20-year-old Ty Cobb. Seen here in his 1st full season (150 games) as the starting right fielder for the Detroit Tigers, Young Ty feasted on AL pitching. He led all MLB with the 1st of his 10 career MLB batting titles (.350), in hits (212), in total bases (283), and RBIs (119). He also led the AL in slugging (.468), in OPS (.848), and in SBs (53)! Looking back today to1918 and the World Champion Boston Red Sox big Southpaw Babe Ruth. Though the Babe was the primary Left Fielder he also was 13-7 on the bump with a 2.22 ERA for the season. He added a .300 BA and led all MLB with 11 Home Runs. To top that, he got the wins for Game 1 (a complete game 1-0 shutout) & Game 4 of the World Series vs. the Chicago Cubs! Today we take a look back to see 1911 Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Honus Wagner in our repair and restoration project to bring him to life in color. For the 1911 season, the 37-year-old future HOF'er had 23 doubles, 16 triples, 20 stolen bases, 89 RBI, and led the NL with a .334 BA and a .930 OPS.
