WISH - Women Inspiring Supporting & Helping

Directions

WISH - Women Inspiring Supporting & Helping We Inspire, Support & Help non-profits and organizations with donations through our time and money. In such, they formed what has become WISH.

WISH was founded in early 2010 by Kathy Schultze of State Farm Insurance and Meghan Butler of Ceresville Mansion. After discussing networking opportunities within the community the two felt that women should be able to come together to help one another expand their business without the bylaws, and weekly commitments. In 2015, member Melissa Lentz was given the leadership to manage WISH. The main focus changed to be community driven, to support each other along with other organizations and non-profits. Networking is still a priority, while giving back to our community. We are now an official 501c3 organization. WISH meets The first Thursday morning of every month at Canapés in Frederick. In addition, we have a monthly evening outing. We welcome anyone who would like to join. There are no requirements, other than buying your breakfast and bringing various needed items for the evening events. For more information, please send us a private message.

October Morning Meeting 🧡
Martina Duncan’s recent presentation to WISH was such a powerful reminder of the importance of human connection, compassion, and truly seeing the dignity in every person we encounter.

Drawing from her experience living in a van for three years in support of those experiencing homelessness, along with the message of her book, The Unforgotten Community, Martina challenged us to look beyond assumptions and connect with people whose stories are often overlooked.

Her message was simple but powerful: homelessness isn’t just a social issue—it’s a deeply human one. Every person has a story, and every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.

Our WISH members left inspired to reflect on how small acts of kindness and genuine connection can make a lasting difference.

Thank you, Martina, for sharing your heart, your experiences, and your beautiful reminder that no one should ever be forgotten. 💕 Together, we can continue building a community rooted in compassion, understanding, and truly seeing one another.

🎨💳 Our Spotlight Presentation featured Stacy Allgood Smith, who shared helpful money tips and a creative piece of art made from cut-up credit cards—a powerful visual reminder of the importance of being mindful of credit card debt and making healthy financial choices.

Thank you, Stacey, for sharing your knowledge and creativity with WISH! 🧡

September at WISH was a good one! 💗

We were inspired by Tawanda Bailey, a true powerhouse who has dedicated decades to serving, leading, mentoring, and advocating for women and girls in our community.

Our Spotlight also shined on LaTisha Boyd Potts aka “The Group Lady” who is always empowering people and bringing women together. 💕

Two powerhouse women doing BIG things — and a perfect reminder of what WISH is all about: Women Inspiring, Supporting & Helping.

We’re not just talking about it…we’re living it! ✨

What a fun pop-up WISH event at the Spinsters film screening at the Weinberg! 🎬

While the story isn’t about Frederick, it was such a treat to see our beautiful city woven throughout the film. Written by local filmmaker Sasha Carrera, Spinsters has earned multiple awards, including the Audience Choice Award—a well-deserved recognition for a truly engaging film.

We’re always grateful for opportunities to support local talent and celebrate the vibrant arts in our community.
